It won't be an issue. Shops will just refuse to change tires on them... I could not imagine driving on the street with CF wheels...
Probably right. I was thinking that if I had an R I would probably take it to the dealership to have tires swapped.

LOL I remember that
That was my guess at FORD's cost... not retail !!, if you remember we were all trying to determine the FORD's cost on the "R" over the standard GT 350, my guess still remains....I know the retail will be much higher.

They will only be able to avoid this for so long, OEMs are looking into Composite wheels heavily, lots of components are going to be replaced by them soon, Coil springs is another big area to cut weight.

Might be worth getting the R over the Track pack just to sell the wheels :eyebulge:

Im getting an R and I have been thinking of maybe getting a separate set of wheels and tires for driving around the street. I can just get a nice set of street tires and a set of wheels that look close to the originals. would I be able to do this
No, the wheels are locked or welded in place, so you could NEVER change them out.

:doh:Of course you can buys a separate set of wheels/tires for the R if you wanted to. In fact, I highly recommend it unless your car is truly going to be a garage queen.

Even Ford knows wheel locks are a must. Will wheel locks come standard?

You don’t want to know
I'll bet they won't be standard. The dealers' parts departments need the additional sales. I can hardly wait to see who buys 5 sets of locking lug nuts for his car, so there will be 5 key combinations on each wheel.
