Larger DI pimp allows you to run a higher DI blend but all the fuel still must pass through the in tank pump. So if the in tank pump wasn’t big enough before then it it won’t be big enough still.

That or you could hit up txripper. Bap, Cat delete, and dw400... What I will be doing.... Unless if I pull a stymee and move to Florida when my kid graduates next year. Which is a real possibility.

On 93 this still won’t push the knock threshold up like increasing DI blend will.

If you want to convert To E85 then the big GDI pump doesn’t buy you as much.

Before going with Roush, I considered Whipple and Edelbrock and chatted with their reps. Also had a lot of dialog with tuners...especially Lund. Never once did anyone mention upgrading the HPFP. It was always DW400, a BAP or both.

There's a video of Hellion making 1000hp with thier sleeper kit on pump 93 utilizing the DI side rather than port side. The atomization of the DI injectors help cool allowing more timing to be added without knock. I don't remember if it was a pump swap, injector swap or both. It was more of a whats to come vid utilizing the DI side. The cost to upgrade the pump is likely why you don't see it used, especially when most will upgrade port side and go E85.

The names you listed know that most people aren’t willing to pay $2500 for what amounts to a couple of degrees of timing. Ask Dustin Whipple if the bigger GDI pump is beneficial on pump gas and he will tell you it is, but the bang for the buck isn’t great. There is no doubt that gains are available with it and Roush just verified that.

Curious what the Phase 3 on the Jack Roush Edition and on the soon to be released Phase 3 option on 2021 Stage 3’s dyno at?

I emailed Roush about the 775 hp upgrade. It gets a boost-a-pump. If I recall, their gen 2 727 hp version also used a BAP.

Your correct I had the 727 Phase 2 on my 17 and it ran a BAP and 80mm pulley over the Phase 1 and 82mm pulley. I got to say that was a great blower kit and if I didn’t get tired of the manual transmission I would’ve kept it.

It gets a new DI fuel pump not just the boost a pump.
