When you get a tune with a CAI, is the tune specific to that CAI, or are the cold air kits essentially interchangeable? The Roush, JLT, Airaid, and upcoming Ford Racing cold air kits all look essentially the same--to my untrained eye, anyway. What in the tune is changing to account for the CAI?

Also, does anyone know if you have to have a Ford Racing CAI along with the Ford Racing tune in order to be eligible for the warranty on the tune? I like the design of the Air Raid CAI because of the cover (it looks like it would do a better job at keeping engine bay heat out, though I obviously have no proof of that), but would like to get the Ford Racing tune if it's eligible for the warranty.

Thanks in advance for the help!

If the MAF housing diameter is the same accross the cold air intake brands, then the tune should work with each. Verifying the diameter of the housing is priority #1.

Most of the more unique CAI's will identify if they are tune required and why.

For example:

We offer our Windstorm CAI with an optional additional performance cutout to the intake tubing which makes it tune required.

JLT offers 2 separate CAI's and one is listed specifically as tune required. So it really just takes a little due diligence to identify if the CAI that you are after is tune required and why.

As always if you have questions feel free to ask!

some of the cai's won't require a tune, some will.

our best sellers are the jlt and roush on the tune intakes, and the mmr on the non tune intakes.

we can set you up with a great lund tune via an x4 or our new lund ngauge as well!

hit me up for the quickest tunes on the market!!!
:)

Thanks for the help! I was curious if you could swap between intakes once you had a tune without having to change the tune (assuming all the CAI kits were designed to have a tune like the JLT, etc.).

I don't see new lund ngauge offered with a CAI on your website, What would be the price difference over the x4?

EDIT: I see it's on there now, sorry I missed that.
