That is great and all. but most don't care, 600 bucks for a Ford part # and the Ford "pro's" to tell you that isn't original to your car. So really If you want to pay for the Ford part # stamped on a outside suppliers part. have at it.
People worrying about perfect fit and finish on a spoiler when Fords panel fit in finish is garbage is comic GOLD!
Justify being cheap with your car all you want bud, your car isn’t my concern.

Same goes with justifying spending a ton of money on plastic parts. I don't cheap out on my car, I just spent nearly 2k upgrading the brakes to handle the track. I just justify the money I spend on parts. If you can somehow justify spending $600 dollars on a piece of plastic then go ahead. You won't be convincing me that the ford performance version is $450 dollars better...

This goes back to the saying “Rich people stay rich by living like they're broke. Broke people stay broke by living like they're rich.” I'd be interested to see how you justify spending the $450 extra dollars for nearly an identical part. Cheers :)

All I can say is, my experience, is I have ordered and returned 3 so far. The local body shops are all too busy and I wanted the spoiler done a month ago. If I wouldn't have been so cheap, I would have a nicely painted one in my car by now and would have avoided all this drama. When I say on my car, I can install it, just not paint it flawlessly. So lesson learned for me. You get what you pay for.

It's my understanding that all the knock off GT350 gurney flap spoilers are hollow inside, and the real deal is a solid piece.

I can see how a more durable spoiler would be nice to have. My GT350 knock off spoiler had some bits of stuff inside that rolled around before installed and made noise because it's hollow. Thankfully it isn't noticeable once installed.

I've also seen cheap chin spoilers that deform and bend when driven even at low speeds, seems worth it to get the quality stuff there if you want that look.

Some plastics are definitely worth the $$.

This is the spoiler that I want to put on my car, but unsure about the quality. I don't like the screws going into it versus it having studs. Is it any good and if not, is there a better one ?

spoiler.webp
I put this one on my shadow black '21 GT a little over a year ago, therewas no drilling. Just line it up to the factory holes. I will say just be careful putting the nuts on, if you drop one it aint comin out. The color match was actually not bad, matched up pretty good. Very happy with the look and durability, regularly take it over 135 at the track nights

My mechanic friend helped me install mine, he did a great trick when we were going to line it up and stick it down - he got much longer screws that fit the spoiler, and we put them through the trunk and into the spoiler, and used that to line it up perfectly. Gave plenty of space before we stuck the adhesive down to make sure we got it right.

I'm 69 years old and learned a long time ago that its best to do stuff right. I also have a 1970 Cuda that Ive done a lot of work too and could easily drive it 1,000 miles without issues because I did things the right way. Besides that, with a car that listed for $61,000 why in the hell would I go cheap on it now ?

Look at fords panel fitment and when it is not a hot mess . Then you will have a point .
No point of having a perfect spoiler when the trunk doesn't fit the quarters well or the doors to quarters or doors to fenders or fenders to hood.
Some spend money just to say they did.
Drivertrain, chassis, engine I ll spend on. A spoiler that go on a hot mess of oem panel fitment is um. Not logical.

There's doing things the right way and then there is doing things just to say you spent $xxxx on a wing that serves no performance purpose. There is no benefit to buying a FP wing vs a SpeedForm wing. Its not like the "knock-offs" are crooked or have bumps and bad paint?!? Certain things yes, I would only want the FP version but others is just a waste of time and more importantly money.

Again I'm not saying the SpeedForm is better, its just it is not worth the $600 for basically the same thing. And honestly there is a massive difference between doing things "right" and blowing needless money on something overkill.

I had 3 seperate aftermarket brands with bad paint and bumps exactly. So, yes.

And I didn't... so you were just unlucky. The point again is you could have bought an unpainted wing, had it professionally painted (much better quality than the thin ford paint), and installed for much less than $600.

I have purchased 3 different spoilers by now. Save yourself the headache and don't go cheap. Buy OEM. Better paint quality is the main thing and also, they fit and install easier.
The oem spoiler was perfection to me
