Hey OP, why bother even asking? You posted this AM and one hour later made a purchase?? Even when several told you Steeda worked well, you chose something different. All about price huh?
I don't follow your logic. I made a post asking for the best deals as well as brand & quality for hood struts. was that wrong that an hour later I made a decision (then decided to post my decision) to choose one and see how it goes? After reading a few more reviews, I chose these. the Ford/Ford Performance logo on theseis a nice touch IMO. it was 66$ shipped. I'm sure Steeda and Redline also have mostly good & a few bad runs of parts. shit happens sometimes. Like I said above, QC has gone way way down the last couple decades from my perspective.

Update-- as of this posting, it's been what 7 months? they still work just fine, even in the much cooler winter here in AZ right now. maybe I got lucky??

take care,
Scott

The Steeda and Redline brackets that attach to the hood are designed to better spread the load and avoid flexing at the top hood brackets stud, and without this the stud will eventually suffer a fatigue failure.
The Steeda video has a snippet showing this flexing with the Ford struts.

Steeda - Brackets have 3 times more surface area to avoid flexing

This wasn't about the purchase per se.

It probably would have been better to let some more time elapse before posting that you'd already made your choice. That way, it would at least appear that you'd seriously considered any suggestions that had been made, and that this wasn't such an immediate, see-it-gotta-buy-it impulse purchase that it wouldn't have mattered what anybody posted (or that you got any replies at all).
