QA1 shaft detroyed during delivery

hey guys need a little help!

I am installing SRP pedals and want to install the dead pedal with nuts and washers on the back side of the carpet and need to remove the side panel behind the hood release lever and cannot figure out how to remove it.

Does anyone with experience know how the lever is removed gentle persaution has not helped and I dont want to break it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated pics attached.

Fit a small 1/4 inch drive socket around the spigot and it will push the clips away from the handle then you can remove it.
