I need to protect my recently-installed carbon fiber drive shaft on the R from the exhaust pipes just below it. The local Ford dealer parts folks say the original heat shields cannot be sold separately from the exhaust. Any ideas on how to get ahold of just the shield(s) or something to protect the driveshaft from the radiant heat? A call to Ford Performance netted no help.

I want the shield over the pipe at the "5230" label on this picture: https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/clamp-exhaust-6572975-1

There's a wrecker in Clinton, Iowa that sells on eBay called Midway Mustangs. Owner's name is Eric. I stopped in there not too long ago and he had a couple GT350s that he was dismantling - maybe check with him and see if he can sell you the heat shield?

You could also look at something from DEI on Summit. They have a lot of heat shield products. I'm sure there's something relatively inexpensive available.

I follow some folks from Georgia on Instagram, @ThePartsFarm is the username. They recently took in 4 new totaled GT350's. They part them out. Might check with them, here's the number.

I like to disassemble things.
Most importantly, a 1-piece driveshaft in an S550/GT350 has ample exhaust to shaft clearance.

OP, can you clarify? Are you looking to add additional heat shielding above and beyond the three shields that came installed on your OEM exhaust system (1 large and two small heat shields)? As long as you have those three in place you are doing a pretty good job of mitigating any potential heat issues.

I reinstalled the three shields onto the Borla system I added which is fairly similar to that of the R. The following photos should give you a pretty good idea of the clearance you should be seeing as well.

As mentioned up above, there are a few good aftermarket solutions in this regard as well. On one of the Kohr Racing cars at Daytona the team decided to change the driveshaft (a one piece aluminum shaft) as it was pretty much timed out. It was the first time I had the opportunity to take a closer look at the exhaust system on the GT4 cars. Note that they are using two different materials...

I’m looking to install the additional shield (originally installed cross-pipe aft) cross-pipe forward. I understand there is some distance from the exhaust to the forward drive shaft. I just want to protect the CF.
