Is anyone running this exhaust? It’s a full 3” with a 3” adapter to eliminate the connection bottleneck for future exhaust mods.

It’s an X Pipe/mid muffler system. Having a lot of trouble finding any sound clips or reviews.

Any feedback about the sound/quality would be great!

Ok - here’s an update for anyone that may consider this system or similar.

I ended up getting the Pypes H-Bomb as the X-Bomb sold out before I purchased it on sale.

The H-Bomb is not for the faint of heart. It’s very deep and very loud. There isn’t much difference cranking the car up without any catback attached versus the H-Bomb. It gives it tone but it’s roughly the same volume. There is some drone but if you’re looking for a loud kit, it’s really not that invasive. This is a wake the neighbors exhaust. You can drive CAREFULLY without making excessive noise but a cold startup is possibly declaring an act of war. Crack the throttle and you’re going to shake the core of the earth!!!

The welds and bends are great. Quality of the piping looks great and the kit has everything you need. Assembly is easy because it’s broken up in sections and labeled accordingly. I did the install with a set of ramps and one floor jack. That’s all you need as far as supporting the vehicle.

My complaint is strictly regarding the tail pipes and the angle they sit at. I don’t think there’s enough adjustability without bending a hanger to keep the tips from touching the bumper. I tried to adjust every way possible and I can’t keep the passenger side tip off the bumper. The tips are doubled walled so they aren’t super hot but I don’t want them rubbing the clear coat off.

I paid $360 from LMR’s crazy Black Friday sale for this exhaust. I feel I got a great deal, however I feel it’s normal price point should warrant a little more precision with the tailpipe/tip angle and adjustability.

Sound clip please!

I am considering the either Pypes or MBRP. Both appear to have good reviews and both are very wallet friendly. The pypes are about $100 cheaper than MBRP, at least with the current sales. This is the second review that stated issue with tip fitment though.

Really don't want earth shaking loud, but need something more than stock. I have to keep it somewhat sane for the wife. The cost of axel backs compared to cat backs is ridiculous.

Unfortunately I haven’t had time to make any clips.

I will say the MBRP will probably be more tame. This is not tame and is earth shaking loud.. lol.

I agree - axel backs are very expensive for what you get. Late Model Resto also has their SVE catback on sale for $460 (for Black Friday). It’s a 2.5” system, x pipe/straight through mufflers and is probably a pretty good compromise for sound and volume. There’s a few clips on YouTube.

Thanks for the update. I'll probably go with the MBRP setup. Back in the day (30 years ago) earth shaking loud was the only way to go. Half the time I ran the Chevelle open headers! Yeah, pretty much all of our neighbors hated us, but they were all old people and we were 16-18 yeas old and basically didn't GAF.

Now, I'll be looking for a little more refined sound. Loud when it needs to be (whenever the wife isn't in the car ) and loud when it's just me . That's why I was really looking for an '18 with the active exhaust. That was just about the perfect setup. Just couldn't find one that fit the bill.

I actually bought the X-bomb and I currently have the same issue with the tail section touching the bumper. I thought I had something adjusted wrong but it seems that this is common. It’s to be expected with a cheaper catback and since I paid $350, I’m not really disappointed at all. I’ll probably just heat up the hangers a little and extend them.

Would you think that the awe track edition catback would be on the same sound level as the pypes bomb?

They’ll both be similar. They’re resonator only systems, no “muffler” so to speak.

I have the MBRP race on my 21 GT ...and I will have to say not a fan of it ...to me the Gen 3 Coyote just doesnt have that nice get up and go especially at that higher RPMs.... I switched out the H pipe for a X pipe with some modifications and wow what a difference ...my car is definitely happier with an x pipe over the H. But with that being said I am investing in a Pypes X bomb ...for the price point for a fully stainless exhaust you can't beat it.. I was gonna try the new c&l race cat back ...but I dont know how I feel about them lol

I have the Pypes Loudmouth axleback with no other changes. Very easy on the street if you go easy on it, and loud when you get on it. Very little drone.

Ha, I just realized I started this thread.

I still have the H-Bomb system on my car. 4 years later no issues other than the original adjustments I had to made in the hangers to get the tips mostly centered. I would say the tone changed a little after the resonators got some miles on them.

It's deep and rowdy!

I'm sure you'll like it a lot. I slept on the deal too long and missed out on the X-Bomb. I wouldn't buy a new system just to change it at this point, unless I add headers in the future.
