can't keep it quiet? what? it's a borla... = only loud when you make it loud. If it's loud on the interestate at 70mph, because you still got it in 5th at high rpms...lol put it in 6th where it should be and you'll barely hear it.
Totally agree! That's how my 3" catback is.

Yea, umm, I dont drive in 5th on the highway at 70mph. If by barely hear it, you mean setting your radio to at least 1/3 volume to equal the sound coming from the exhaust, sure. The only way you could consider the S Types quiet at 70mph w/3.73s is if you've never been in the car at 70mph with 3.73s. AT 60mph I'll agree, anything beyond that, you need to get your hearing checked (not joking). Thankfully I dont get to do 70mph on the highway very often (Monday being the exception where I got to experience it for roughly 1.5 hours each direction). 80mph was just ridiculous (50% volume to compete with it).

Agreed, but I still like the system and will be keeping it.

Borla S-Types are easily the best exhaust for the Coyote! :headbang:

If you think they are loud, trying having them with longtube headers like mine.
Hoping to have the long tubes installed when I get back home (early Sept).

I've got 3.15 gears, so I probably have much less volume than someone with 3.73.

yeah whatever man. you're out your mind on this one... it's not loud at all on interstate. no borla or frpp is..maybe you need to tighten some stuff down because if you can hear it...you got issues. and yes i've been 70 mph with 3.73 as I own one and no you can barely hear it...it's got a slight tone and i mean slight but it sure as hell ain't loud or even an issue. Only time borla/frpp is loud is when when you are getting down on it. cruising speed it's probably the most quietest exhaust on a mustang in existence...that's why borla has got such a good rep but to say it's loud cruising.... pssh yeah right as that totally is opposite of what the exhaust does.... i mean we all got vids to prove this as well as borla has them and all these vendors that have done videos.

You dont have the S Type so your opinion is worth nothing in this regard (I dont mean for that to sound as harsh or dickish as it looks). There are no similarities between the Borla and FRPP variant. I'm more than happy to trade you straight across if you have the 2.5" cat back (I have black tips as well) so you can behold the Borla S Type in all its glory.

The mufflers arent even close man; I'm not blowing smoke up your ass, I swear.

Edit: how about I give you $100 and we swap? Not a scratch or dent on them.

(Or rather the guy at the shop did)

This thing is perfect. Definitely loud when you're on it, but if you're not accelerating, you don't hear anything. If you keep it under 2k rpm, you don't hear anything either. So I can sneak home without annoying my neighbors, and it still sounds insane when I'm on it.
mauleed,
Do you have a sound clip that you can post? I'm thinking about ordering the S-type and I'm trying to hear as many sound clips as I can. Thanks!

P.S. Excellent color!! :headbang:

Yeah, I've heard that one, that's the clip that pretty much has me sold on the S-Type. Love the sound!

You can't go wrong with the S Type. Nice deep tone and zero drone. I love my 3" catback. Don't purchase for full retail. PM the vendors on here.
