Where r u guys shifting when making a pull on the highway from third to forth? U shift at 6500 ,7000 or past 7000? Guy in a 14 basicly same mods as me, tune( same place) cold air ,1 3/4 kooks headers x pipe mac mufflers. I have 1 7/8 ARH long system x pipe stock mufflers ,tune, cold air and he beat me by a car length on the highway. Maybe im shifting to early or two late. He said he shifting at 7 or sometimes 7200. Isn't that to high?

Lots of variable in that. How fast are you shifting are you a good driver? You asking this tells me most likely not. No offense. What gears do you have? I shift right before stock rev cut cuz im stock.

Looking at my dyno sheet the graph drops after 6500. Whats the EV?

Maybe he started in a lower gear than you and was in power band. I raced a 14 gt same mods as me . Took him from a dig and a 20 ROLL. he pulled on me on the 20 because I forgot to start in first but still pulled on him .

Idk weird part is. I raced him before it was neck and neck. I actually beat him a couple times. Today it was like he had a different car. We diffently started in 3rd eveytime. Migh'tve madequate to many pulls my oil temperature was still in the normal but it was rising

I was wondering if it was because I have the stock mufflers. Maybe some restriction going on but then I talked to a friend of mine with the same set up i have. ARH long system and he just replaced his stock mufflers with the ARH pure thunder mufflers and didnt feel any gain in power just sound. I was hopping it flow a little better with the mufflers and make more power but nope lol.

Yeah he has a tune idk. We went to the same place. I'm sure the 14 tune is different from the 15. Weight could be a factor. I know the 15s are heavier plus I have 20s but there light weight vossens so idk.

20's will raise your gear ratio. Also that's more rolling mass. The 15 has an aero advantage.

If you have a copy of the dyno post it and we could easily explain where the best shifting spot would be. But its gonna be around 7000 at least, if your shifting sooner then your shifting too early especially since you have longtubes and a tune already as even a stock 15 should probably be shifting around 6800-7000

Regardless, if you beat him a couple times and only lost a car length another time then your still even with eachother. Driving factors and shift speed are easily enough to cause a car or two worth of variance among runs. Get your driving down and youll be more consistent but two stick cars doing 5 runs are gonna have 5 different results no matter what you do

My friend has the same mods as me except he has a lund tune and different gears. He gets me on the highway at 60 pull but not till i shift to 5th. From a dig i win every time.

I think with that graph you want to get into the next gear sooner as opposed to later...

At 5600-5700, your hp flattens out and you are way past peak torque... sure there is more hp closer to redline but torque is way off by that point. The more important factor is where you are in that power band once you make the shift to the next gear... that will determine good shift points.

Lmao at people that wind the engine up well past good shift points thinking they are going faster when all they are doing is reving the engine... forward motion is usually stifled because you not only run out of torque but you run out of gearing. Use that 3.73 to it's fullest, shift earlier.
