That is a decent price, ultimate detailing has a group buy going where they are charging $1100 for three layers of opticoat, wheel protection, hydrophobic carpets and interior protection.
Jeez makes my quote look terrible. Imagine if I want another 2 layers done and to add in carpets if would probably be at least $500 more.

Sounds good.

Does this include paint correction? I assume not, but doesnt hurt to check!

More coats would also give it more gloss.

Kind of like spraying more and more layers of clear coat.

Or you can go to the only sprayed on Opti Coat in Australia (that I know of)

http://www.definitivecardetailing.com/

Lane Cove/North Ryde.

Was deciding between these 2 guys as they appear to be the best.

Note that this guy charges around $1,000 or so for opti-coat. That's JUST the body. But apparently it's thicker than hand applied opti coat.

That's a worry. Where did you read that? I washed my old ST184 Celica (please don't laugh too much - it has sentimental value) yesterday that was resprayed about 14 years ago and I just can't believe the quality of the paint. Looks as new. It's never been properly detailed or polished or given protection. Hell, I didn't even know such things existed back then! ;)

I'm likely going to use the same person who did a great job on my S15 which is Reflection Perfection.

https://www.facebook.com/reflectperfectdetailing

Morrie has quoted $800 for an exterior treatment using Cquartz Finest as the coating. That includes full paint decontamination chemically and clay. Also get a single stage machine polish with a very light polish to remove any dealer swirls before finest goes on. The only extra is if it needs 2 stages if machine polishing. Any additional coats of Cquartz Finest you may want would be $75.

He did a great job with my S15 and took about 9ish hours to complete it. Hes located in Brunswick East Melb.

Well here is one thread, It is mentioned many times though some even saying they feel if they rubbed a fingernail on some panels it would take paint off. (Not sure why you would do that) but anyhow the point is they have thin paint.

Thin Paint

Ill admit I have not read alot about it very recently... Who knows maybe its a bit better now? Ill still feel better with some layers of extra protection since
Its available!

I wonder whether the mobile guys can do as a good job as the mobs that have a proper shop?
Mob like Solar Style in Brisbane actually use a infrared light/heat to cure the coat and they leave the car overnight to let the coat to set in.
But for those mobile guys, they just do the coat and off you go?
I would think that surely the impurity of the air (ie. dust, dirt, pollen and etc) would affect the coat when applying it, especially done outdoor even under the shade?
There is a price difference of around $200 but is it worth it...?
Thoughts?

Thanks. Just read that. Looks like something we need to keep an eye on. I wasn't planning on paint protection and all that, but I'm now thinking very seriously about it.

I agree YellowGT. When I found out a bit more about the process of the opti-coat treatment, I am glad I went with the shop.
They also use a UV light to see high/low spots in the treatment.
Another consideration is the annual inspection that is required for your warranty. Solar Style quoted me $150 for an annual inspection. Express Tint won't charge me for the inspection, as he hasn't had to redo a treatment since he started using opti-coat.

Anyone in Sydney, go to Frank @ Definitive Car Detailing. Yes, costlier than others. But it's the only sprayed on Opti-coat Pro in Australia as far as I know. Also includes correction and headlamps/tails. Plus free annual touch ups if needed.

I think he only does 1 car a day and uses I curing.
