door edge protection ?

I took a long piece of soft Styrofoam type padding that I got off a TV packaging box, glued a piece of paper on one side so that I stick some Blu-Tack on it, and just stuck it on my wall.
No holes, no mess.

Yep, double sided Velcro used to attach some styrafoam too. Anyone doing the vinyl wrap along this sharp edge? I know there are threads for vinyl wrap, but seeing we are talking about that sharp edge???

Here it is. I'm a lot more confident opening that door now.

(For the moment) I've settled on some 3M Door Protection Strip from ClearGard (see photo) from AutoBarn for $18 (enough for 2 full doors - but I only applied a short bit (50-60mm long) over the fold - and used the rest on the doors of the "other car" in the garage that open onto the Mustang.) It's only 0.2mm thick, so the protection is quite limited - but it is very discrete. The strip is clear and only 14mm wide, so by the time it has wrapped around to the back of the door, there's probably only 5-6mm showing. When you stuff-up the application, it just peals-off again no problems (I had to cut a small triangle out at the angle to stop it folding up on itself).

For the garage walls, I bought some stuff from Clark Rubber as per the photo. You get 2 bits for $20 that are self-adhesive, 7mm thick and 150mm x 560mm.

Haha. My daughter asked how I'll be parking at shopping centres. To which I responded, won't be unless I'm accompanied by 2 other cars I know the drivers of to park either side of me. :-)
