3.55 gears are good in a 15-17 stick car. The transmission gearing is much different in the 18+ stick cars. Running a 4.09 rear gear in a 18+, is similar to running a 3.55 in a 15-17 stick car.

6r80 gear ratios--First -4.17, 2.34, 1.57, 1.14, 0.87, and 0.69:1
10r80 gear ratio
First – 4.70, 2.99, 2.15, 1.80, 1.52, 1.28, 1.00, 0.85, 0.69, 0.64
4:09 gears on a 10 speed would be too much gear especially compared to a 6r80. I thought my 1st gear was way too steep with my 3:55's, the 10 speed is a lot steeper making its 1st gear with 4:09's completely useless even with a Procharger! I guess that's why a majority of 10-speed gt's come with 3:15 diff gears from the factory.

I guess there is some confusion about who asked about 409 gears and what trans they have. I wouldn't have an issue trying a 409 with my 6r80 setup.

I'm curious about the answer from the Procharger Tech. I have 4.09s as well ( manual ). Would lean more toward having more spirited street driving, than timeslips although I get to the track a couple of times a year.
