How do they determine what cars get block heaters? Would imagine all Canadian ones have one, but curious how the decision is made for US models.

Edit: Didn't realize there was a Paul Harvey version to follow when I asked this question. Will save it for a more appropriate time and thread. Good luck to those still searching for a good and honest deal.

Bait and switch. Called 2 dealers that advertised this and they said it was an "error" and wanted 10-15k over.

I called a dealer in PA they had a huge banner across the car stating "St. Paddy's Day Special". Listed the MSRP then had it for a couple under. Absolutely not a typo or misprint. There was money spent to design the photo and advertise that specific car.

It ended up being the same thing. 10K over. I usually do not beat up people due to the fact they are employees acting as told, but he was the service manager so I vented on him for a few.

Did anyone actually call this dealer on this exact car or is everything that has been said pure conjecture?

I just checked and no longer see it listed on Ford.com, dealer's website, or Autotrader so whatever the real story was it looks like it has been sold.

btw, same thing happened when I was shopping - several dealers advertised cars at MSRP on Autotrader and said it was a "$10K error" when I called. I stopped calling anyone from Autotrader.

One other thing: with these screen grabs, this is a matter for State Attorney General. Almost every state has laws on books that prohibit this type of practice. Since this is considered advertising and explicitly stated so, they cannot claim a mistake. If a simple anonymous call from SAG's office can confirm this, they're in a world of trouble - as in fines and possible loss of license. This practice should not be ignored. I'd report it.

I already had a car on order but thought if I could pick another up it would be a cool track car. If I didn't have one on order I would have reported it.
