Yeah, I thought the response could have at least been more diplomatic...

Gee, maybe it's because he painted all Texas dealers as being "dishonest," which put the guy at FP on the defensive from the start. The manufacturers have no legal or other control over how their dealers, who all are independent business people, run their businesses. The only reason dealers get away with ADM is because buyers let them do it. That may be tacky or shortsighted for the dealers' longterm reputation in the eyes of certain buyers, but it is not dishonest or illegal.

How would you respond if someone you've never talked to before walked into your office and said, "I know you're a crook, but I still want to do business with you at a price less than other people in the area will pay." :doh:
