I can't tell you how many times I've almost gotten into an accident holding my phone in one hand and trying to drive with the other while trying to figure out what lane to be in to make the next turn while trying to decipher the navigation on my phone screen. Never again.
The base V6/Ecoboost/GT will control Google maps via voice command on Android at least (I don't know about the iPhone), and the spoken directions will come over the speakers. All I need is a discrete mount to hold it for quick glances. It should be no worse than the built in Nav.

+1,000,000,000

I'm hoping the traction/stability control is clever enough to permanently switch to wet/snow rather than reacting to each slip.

I have a garmin nuvi that sits at eye level that I only use once in a while and it cost 200.00. Why would you pay 800.00 for the same thing that you have to look down at???

My 14 GT is a base model with auto tranny. I don't like leather and don't want all of the electronic stuff that can just go wrong later on. If I was to get the 15, I would want it the same way.
As far as Navigation goes, I have a Garmin Nuvi that has lifetime map updates that I bought for less than $100 and does everything I need it to do and I can use it in any of my vehicles. No way would I pay the extra money that these car manufacturer's want for in car navigation and then to update the maps usually cost quite a lot of money.

But that is why we all have choices to pick what we want. I do wish that they wouldn't bundle so much together so you have to buy things you don't want in some of these packages.

Drive modes, Navi, Sirius, 68B interior, ambient lighting, toggles, large screen . . . it was the right way to go for me. I wanted almost all of it.

I'm pretty happy with overall system. In general, I think fewer options is cheaper for consumer, easier for dealers to stock and, to a lesser extent, easier for manufacture to build. I just dislike leather & multicolor lighting gimmicks. That's why I'm getting GT base if no '16 Boss rumors within 2-3 months.

add as standard feature to Base GT:
all premium interior panels (soft touch etc..), it's $33k car. I can't imagine a few trim pieces having a price difference of more than 60-80 bucks total.

add Base options:
-radio delete
-touch screen radio, using base's 6 speakers (keep the 9 & 12 speaker Premium only)
-navi

Add toggle switches to Performance Package.
Only V6, EB base non-PP, GT base non-PP would have no toggles.

That's a dealer-installed accessory. I might add that to a base interior, but it's not the same as the lighted sills and exterior Pony puddle lights that the Premium adds.

Drove a Ecoboost Premium PP today. I liked most of it, but I found one thing about the premium that I really, really don't like. You have to go into MFT to change the HVAC blower mode (top vents, foot vents or both). To me this could stop me from getting a premium as I don't mind cloth seats at all and the HVAC controls are far easier and less distracting to use when driving. It is a pet peeve of mine that car makers favor style over usability when it comes to controls people use regularly. Heck, no one needs a max AC or max defrost button...replace those with HVAC modes.

Toggles and color matched rear defuser on a base and I'd be happy with one.

How about a touch screen interface that can integrate with an iPhone or Android more seamlessly than MyTouch?

Standard seats but without the power options for adjusting it and offers heat and cooling for not only the bum but the back of the seat.
