Have any PP2 owners lower their car? If so did the mod require a camber kit?

No camber plates are not required but if you were to track the car it'd be advisable to go that route.

Yes, a number of owners have lowered their cars. Check the PP2 real life pics thread.
You'll have to scroll through and check out the pics.

Camber plates are seriously worth it just as a mod by themselves. Dramatic improvement in handling and your doing the same work, anyway.

If you are lowering more than an inch you will need shocks designed for the new ride height or you will blow out the seals in less than a year.

In all honesty if you want to go lower you should seriously just consider getting coilovers. They usually come with camber plates, are easier to install and some come with adjustable shocks which is a huge advantage. Plus it's not much more money once you factor in the real costs of springs, and tge supporting hardware. And you're getting parts designed to work with each other

It's like buying a combo vs alacarte...

Coilovers may seem expensive but you'll be way happier in the long run

1300 shipped, fully adjustable ride height, shock dampening, plus camber. Thats a hell of a deal

PP2s all have magneride. switching to coilovers would be a downgrade...and pointless.

Thats debatable... We'll see how well your magnaride is in a few years...

Simplify then add lightness. As the great Sir Colin Chapman said.

I didnt realize op had magnaride but that said your response doesnt negate anything I said.

There are kits, designed to work with magnaride. Those systems have limited drop and i think the system needs to be retuned to account for the new springs. I think ford includes a tune with their kits.

When you lower a car you have to change dampers or you will blow the shocks thats just fact. Even with kits that say you dont need to replace shocks you ARE shortening the life of the shock because youre making them operate with shorter travel, and higher spring rates than what they were originally intended for.

Shock dampening is chosen to match spring rates and travel.

A kit with parts designed from the get go to work together will always outperform and out live a system with modified parts.

Its why racecars still largely use coilovers or they use way more advanced electronic system than the cookie cutter mass produced systems you're getting from ford...

I use to sell performance parts for many years and there is a lot of deceptive marketing. I'm only sharing stuff, so the OP can consider all the factors and make a more informed decision...

You think companies trying to make a buck are going to tell you the WHOLE story of what to expect or tell you their parts may damage other parts? A lot of them don't even know themselves...

If you buy a kit with matching parts there is no guesswork... And you will get more life out of it.

Get camber bolts and you will be able to keep the front camber in spec. Around $40 or so.

Camber plates are a far better solution than reduced-shank (meaning reduced strength) crash bolts. Particularly for a PP2 car where one has to assume that harder than normal street driving is to be expected.

For a magneride car, get the BMR SPH765 handling springs and call it a day. Numerous excellent reviews on GT350s and PP+magenride GTs. The drop is minimal so you don't need camber plates, albeit they're a very good upgrade for anyone with track intentions.
