lots and lots of people want the PP1 feature set and do NOT select MR for a variety of reasons. Now MR is as available as sand at a beach. It was damn hard to find in 2018. The silly tires the PP2 comes with are a waste for street driving and sure, more sensible wheel sizes and tires can be had for $2500 (or less) but some people would rather not have to spend twice. Ford sells a lot of the PP1 but mostly NOT premium trims I suspect.

Also the PP1 package price got *seriously* jacked for 2020. It used to be an overpriced $4000. Now it's a mind-blowing and preposterous $5200. While the PP2 package remained the same price as last year.

Absolutely this. Ford's been getting really greedy with it:

Year MSRP
2015 $2500
2016 $2500
2017 $3000
2018 $4000
2019 $4000
2020 $5200

I'd want the PP1 tires, splitter and spoiler on a PP2, so if I were ordering now I guess I'd try to live with the tires until worn and see if I could accomplish the latter two for the new pricing difference.

A lot of people want the A10 which isn't an option with the PP2. If you want an M6 and Magneride, the PP2 makes a lot of sense IMO.
Exactly. Wanted the A10 which isn't available with the PP2. Really the only reason for me.

I didn’t even think about those wanting the a10, makes sense for them but otherwise I would just say at this point opt for pp2 if in the market and worry about tires when the time comes.
I also didn’t realize how much the pp1 upcharge has changed over the years.
