Power Stop Confusion

Power Stop Z26-1853 and 1718 are now described as Street Warrior as opposed to Extreme?
What am I missing here?
I am looking for the Power Stop that most people are using as a replacement for the high dusting stock pads.
And--
Where is the best place to purchase the pads?

The vehicle is not tracked. This is for street use only.

They are not a race pad. I like them for lack of dust but they are not very good compared to the stock pad. I went back to the G loc's.

I think American Muscle sells them.

Don’t get too wrapped up in the flashy advertisement wording. The Z26 is the Z26 and it’s always been a street pad. The 26 is the go-to for no dust great street pads.

If you do get the Z26's be careful bedding them in. I followed the directions exactly and glazed them.

You can buy them on Amazon and Rock Autoparts. You do have to definitely pay attention to the bed-in procedure. I didn't have any issues. The main problem is finding an area clear of traffic and long enough to allow the procedure without premature stopping or slowing....ie no traffic, stop signs etc. They are fine for the street. Now if you do decide to track, switch back to the OEM or another performance pad.

Sooo, funny story…like @K4fxd the only time I’ve ever had any problems with any brake pad was following the bedding instructions on a set of power stops, LOL. Never again (to bedding procedures, not power stop).

One of the best pieces of advice I ever got was directly from the owner/pres of GLoc (have a set of GS-1’s). We were emailing back and fourth about pads, generic help, bla bla bla…I mentioned I didn’t see any bedding procedures, and how should I best go about doing that. His literal response on the topic was “just drive the damn car”. LOL. I wish I could find that email.

I am happy with Z23 and they are low dust as well, the Z26 gets metal shims.

I used Z23 kit for years with the 4 piston and still happy with the Z23 kit on the 6 piston so far, good street braking, no dust, no sound.

The stock pads are pretty good. Gloc R10 front and R8 rear are a decent improvement that is streetable.

The best thing to do with the 4 pots is to get 2 piece rotors.

If that is not an option the drilled and slotted or use the dimpled rotors from brakeperformance.com

Can now get updated front 4 rotors now that have correct venting I believe. if you have an older S550.

1853 and 1718 are the ones. perfect street pads, 99.57% less dust and they dont squeal and i forgot to bed them in and they nevertheless work perfectly. Bought from Bezos.

Ditto on the Z26's for street driving. I swapped my stock pads out early on because of the dust and bit of noise. They bite plenty hard for my purposes, and in most instances, feel the same as my stock pads did. And they're dead quiet...Just my 2¢
