For the last 3 or 4k miles, I've had an issue with the steering on my Mustang. When turning at slow speeds, the steering will stick a little. If you were to make a turn, normally, you could take your hands off the wheel and let the steering reset itself straight upon acceleration. However, my steering has been sticking so that you have to overcome this notch for it to turn. When driving on the highway in a straight line, I have to overcome a slight resistance to change lanes. In short, the steering isn't smooth all the time. whenever I need to change direction, there's a notch of resistance to overcome before it goes. My mechanic said it might need a new rack and pinion, but that I probably don't need to worry about replacing it right now.
Modifications that could come into play:
275/30/19's in the front.
325/30/19/s in the back.
billet IRS vertical Links
IRS cradle lockouts
Stainless Works Long tubes
Just curious if anyone else has had this issue and what the resolution is.
