Has anyone powder coated the PP wheels yet? Trying to see what they would look like in a different color.

Yea, I'd be interested in seeing the PP wheels powder coated too. Thanks!

I'm getting mine done as soon as I get my car. I just need to decide on a color.

Since I made this post, I found some information that says that to powder coat wheels, they need to be heated to high temperatures (350 degrees) and this may weaken the wheels and the result is that Ford will not stand behind them if they fail. Has anyone else found this information?

Wow, I never heard this. People powder coat wheels all the time and I've never hear of a case of a wheel failing. Interesting! I'll have to ask the shop that's doing my wheels.

Hey Husker, WOW - amazing! What did you find out about powder coating weakening the wheels because of the high temps required to powder coat? When will have some pics with these wheels on a Mustang?

They will get heated to 350-425 degrees depending on the powder. I think ford is just covering their own behinds, but you should be just fine.

My guy has done a lot of wheels + does exclusive business with Duncan Aviation for high end Corporate jets.

I wouldn't worry about it.

So were the wheels painted black or powder coated black from the factory. Obviously if they were painted they striped them.

Somewhere on the forum is a pic of the Ford Racing version of the PP wheels in a metallic gunmetal finish, which I absolutely love. I think I have the pic saved on my computer at work.

Anything is better than black.
