I don't know about everyone else but it only took $22 to fill up yesterday. I can care less about mileage. (smoke em if you got em) I am going to enjoy this while I can.
how much less can you care about the mileage?

i'm about to fill up tonight. i think it's about 3 bucks a gal for premium right now.

i couldn't care less about it either. it would still be worth it if it was 13mpg for the GT.

You're on Long Island, right? I filled up at a Hess station in Commack for $2.79 for premium.

Yes it does!!! Getting bold on take offs does no justice either I've only gotten mine up to 22 so far hwy and farm roads mixed... driving to the base is 50 miles straight shot from my house so I an sure it will be better... Especially with a fresh tank.... going to see if there is a difference from Kroger fuel than exxon though is a difference in $ really should not make that much difference
Its going to be hard to tell on fuel right now. (winter blend) Try Chevon, I believe Kroger is Shell not bad fuel, Exxon is okay but not the best mileage.

yes. i prefer hess stations myself (i have the old hess chase card that gives 2% back or something like that). but i've been tending to go to a Valero by me instead due to convenience. i saw a credit card they were advertising there too, for 8cents off a gallon. i signed up for it and it will be my first time using it tonight.

I was being cheap and went with 87 @ $1.65. On the way to work I got 25 mpg doing speed limit. That will probably come down to 22 mpg going home.

like someone mentioned in another thread, 87 actually makes more power if the engine doesn't detonate at that octane, and that it will only lose about 1% power if it does and the engine pulls timing.

With exhaust sounds and intake noise being pumped in cabin, can detonation be heard anymore?

probably not. im sure if someone really wanted to check, perhaps one of the tuning tools will be able to see live data or logs from the ECU.

If it's bad enough you'll probably throw a code. If you wanna run 87 then go for it, there won't be an issue with it.

My car: Base auto EcoBoost w/ 17s. I've filled it up with 91 since I got the car.

Although it's not a full tank's worth of measuring, i reset my trip counter prior to leaving my house in Colorado Springs and drove up to Denver. Mixed highway/city at the start and finish of the trip, with most up the interstate doing 75-80.

This is what I was sitting at when I parked in Denver. At one point before I hit construction entering Denver I was sitting at 41 MPG.

Surely something's wrong with how the car is calculating mileage? This was the first time i've had it out on the highway really, mostly I drive mixed city to/from work and have averaged 21-24 mpg on my first few tanks. Could this be accurate? Or is it likely that the car's computer isn't accurately calculating the mpg since it's still such low mileage / small amount of time spent on the highway? When I returned home, it had dropped down to 37 mpg but the trip back didn't allow for mph to stay as consistent due to traffic.

Edit: I'm also on snow tires vs the summer tires that came on it.
I would attribute this to going downhill (Colorado Springs is at a higher elevation than Denver). And depending on the time of day, the wind may have been blowing in a somewhat northerly direction (http://www.wunderground.com/history...o+Springs&req_state=CO&req_statename=Colorado).
