Do you think a battle between AdvanceTrac and your right foot may be part of the equation?

Its possible, I do run with traction control off, but stability on (hitting the TC button once). I try to keep my inputs as smooth as possible, but its the track so anything can happen in the heat of the momentDo you think a battle between AdvanceTrac and your right foot may be part of the equation?
If you aren’t completely at peace driving with the stability control off, please spend a few seasons autocrossing. All car control, near zero consequences. Its possible, I do run with traction control off, but stability on (hitting the TC button once). Well. I’ve never heard that. But it stands to reason. Certainly true about tires. How old are the discs & pads? After a certain age, they just won't have the right feel regardless of how they look.
Especially after a disc has seen some abuse, I've run into this. We're talking about some real abuse, not just a session or two of normal running. At some point, though, the efficiency of the combo just goes away and new stuff is the only way to get it to feel right.Well. I’ve never heard that. But it stands to reason. You learned a lesson that has been done many times and written about just as many. Don't do it again. Thanks everyone for their responses! I am 100% certain there is no air in the system. I performed a bleed myself with some at home tools, then had it pressure bled twice at a shop. I inspected the pads and rotors and there was absolutely no indication of glazing or warping. I am fairly confident that my rubber brake lines are the cause of this. When I boiled my fluid its likely the rubber lines got some heat in them and now flex a little. I will be moving towards steel lines which should hopefully fix the issue! Cheers!
I've been racing for over 15 years, mainly in spec miata and formula 1600. I also have been autocrossing for equally as long. This is just the first time I have taken my daily driver on track. So, yes I will more than likely keep advance trac on and not because i can't handle it but because I know how fast things can go wrong and how competitive I can be. Call it cheap insuranceIf you aren’t completely at peace driving with the stability control off, please spend a few seasons autocrossing. All car control, near zero consequences.

That is a good point. I was planning on keeping advance trac on simply because this is my daily driver. I have other cars I track regularly, but this one is not turning into a track rat lol!As an engineer, you may not be surprised to consider that the stability control may be quietly resisting some of your throttle inputs and that it may be smooth enough that it often escapes your notice. Or not. But it would explain some of the brake trouble you’ve observed.
Maybe try dialing back a bit with AdvancTrac fully disabled. If, under those circumstances, you experience better throttle response coming off the corner, it was probably using the brakes to protect you from yourself. Be cautious. Take small bites.![]()
Any time I have forgotten to turn absolutely everything off my car basically errors out. The default slip angle for a turn is higher than stability control will support, as it leaves very little room for the robot to save you if something goes wrong.I've been racing for over 15 years, mainly in spec miata and formula 1600. I haven't run into an issue with that on mine. I find the traction control to be quite good actuallyAny time I have forgotten to turn absolutely everything off my car basically errors out. Except for the part where it could your brakesI haven't run into an issue with that on mine. I find the traction control to be quite good actually![]()
It's possible, yes. I think it was more the fact I was tracking a car with the stock pads and fluid. I friend of mine encouraged me to try it stock before I go modifying things, big regret there lol! I haven't had any issues after the upgraded brakes, lines, and fluidExcept for the part where it could your brakes![]()
