Well after lengthy talks with PBD about this matter the person I talked to said I would get any where between 10-15HP with no tune ..and wont gain much more with a tune ...but the fact I already have a 87MM FPP Throttle body I would benefit more then people using the stock 80MM TB. I mean for 500$ I think it'll be worth it plus I am pulling for max effort NA on my car. Cams, Injectors etc .... E85 tune for me would be useless due that there is only 2 gas stations within a 50mile radius of me that sells it and the closes being 35 minutes away from me lol ...so I am stuck with 93 for now.

I‘ve always wondered if there was more to pick up with a tune revision with my Soler ported 91MM Bullitt tb and PMAS (no tune required version)? I don’t expect that there would be much more to gain (maybe a few hp), but I’m not sure it would be worth it to spend the extra money on revisions.

You on the other hand, with cams, I can definitely see why you would want to do it. I would want the motor to inhale and exhale as efficiently as possible. I would also recommend you tune for E85, even if you have to order it by the pail. Have the tune made and ready to use if you really want to go max effort.

Remember also, there's is a big difference between real porting, and the simple glue and seam removing that most people are calling "porting" on these intake manifolds. Most of the gains that you see from these plastic manifolds isn't from actual porting, its simply cleaning up the air flow turbulences created by excess plastic and glue along the seams. If all your doing is cleaning this up, its hard to screw up the flow balance from cylinder to cylinder. You'd have to really screw things up to do that.

cleaning up the seams 2 inches into the port isn't gonna do anything. we're not moving air/fuel, just air. which tends to stay off the wall (boundary layer), whereas air/fuel mix tends to cling to the wall.

Don't know what other companies do, but i managed to clean up the hard edges and glue about 4 to 5 inches in. And whilst yes you are right about the boundary layer, it does still move albeit slower, so if you can speed it up, you reduce the friction between the boundary layer and the faster moving air, and therefore increasing its speed. Older style intakes that carried fuel and air benefitted from rough surfaces to keep the air turbulent and aid in fuel mixing before combustion, but with modern intakes you do benefit from having the smoothest surface possible. No, we're not talking huge gains here, and i certainly wouldn't pay someone 500 bucks to do it, but if you can do it yourself (which is really easy) then its worth doing in my opinion.
