My warranty is up in a few weeks so I'm looking to invest in some power adding mods. So far I've mostly focused on suspension and brakes. I'm considering adding a ported GT350 intake and tune. I already have a Steeda CAI. Would a a tune and ported 350 IM make a noticeable difference in power and performance? I know a blower is the way to go but I'm going more for an autocross & HPDE build. The car is a Gen 2 with 6R80. I haven't seen many people using ported GT350 intake yet. Are they worth it?

What's a safe shift point for a Gen 2 6r80 with stock cams? 7300?

If you put a GT350 manifold they will pull to 7600 or so so 7800 should be a good place to shift. Stock intake manifold 7200

I shift mine at 7800 w/ gen 3 intake manifold. Stock gen 2 cams.

Wow, didn't know they could "safely" rev that high. Thank's for the replies. I think the stock gen 2 intake I have now falls flat on its face at around 6800. I realize a blower is the way to go for serious power, but it's way out of my budget and since I already have the Steeda CAI I can pick up a ported GT350 IM and tune/tuner for about $1500. Eventually I'll grab some long tubes but I'd want to change out my mufflers first, the Roush would be way too loud with long tubes.

The weak link in these doesn't show up till 8000+ RPM. Ford did a great job on these engines.
