Ported 2nd gen intake

Hey guys, 2017 gt

I was wondering if anyone has had their 2nd gen intake ported. All I can find is the 18+ and 350 manifolds and so on.

Something I have seen as well that I was wondering about was if you port your stock intake do you need a tune? I have read that you do not. I am only x pipe, axleback, and ford power pack 1 on the car. If you can port and no tune required and make the gains that is perfect since I am just running fords power pack 1 tune. The tq is awesome and the top end is way better than stock but hoping porting will help move peak power a bit more up or just carry longer before it all falls off.

From what I can manage to fund is you gain some decent under the curve and AFS said you can gain decent peak power as well.

Anyone have a before and after dyno to compare and see where gains are and if they are actually there?

Not a dyno run, but some 1/4 mile runs with similar weather conditions 2 weeks apart. I was right around a tenth quicker, back half only. That could easily have been slightly different weather conditions, etc. I'd call it statistically insignificant. BUT if forced to put a hp number on it, I'd say 5. No tune needed cause not much of a difference in MAF flow . Been porting all kinds of intakes/cyl. heads for 25+ years.

I agree with @WildHorse . If it is something you are going to do yourself, or have a buddy do for free then go for it. I wouldn't pay any money to have it done though.
