Has anybody else thought about having their heads ported and polished? Ik the 14 gt's had some pretty decent gains off of this, any ideas? I would like to build a high hp N/A car and have fun with that before I go FI

I think if you're planning on going FI in the near future that you'd be much better off saving that money for the power adder or putting into the driveline.

It's gonna be a log while before I do a power adder, and on the flip side, higher flowing heads will help with larger power gains when it comes to forced induction. I remember beefcake's 2011 gt getting a set of jpc racing stage one heads and cams and made good power gains

Port and polishing is always a great idea, especially if you're planning on staying n/a. Sure you'll see more of a return on your investment with FI but some folks just like to squeeze as much n/a and stay that way. I've thought about it but haven't quoted any prices on it yet.

Yeah I'm looking to stay n/a for quite a while. I'd really like to see 500+ off nothing but motor and normal 93 octane if possible. I'm still waiting on comp cams to start selling their new CR series cams. I've got my local performance shop where I'm at, I'll prolly ask him what he charges to kinda give ya an idea, I also emailed jpc racing to see if they are gonna be doing port and polishing for the s550's any time soon, no answer back tho

Nope? Lol guessing as in haven't crossed your mind
Exactly. Too much work for me, especially since it's my only car. And these heads are already better than the 11-14 heads...more like the Boss heads.

I did just do heads, cam, intake, roller rockers, pushrods, lifters, etc on my buddy's 93 5.0 though. That was fun.

I thought our heads had the same combustion, intake, and exhaust port size but utilized the boss valve springs, lifters and valves? I could be very wrong tho haha

500 should be more than possible, there's a handful of 11-14 cars that have done it without touching cams and heads. There is one running around at 522, but he did cams and heads and revs pretty dang high. lol

Hmm mabye I should set my goal higher! I think ford racing is working on a higher flow intake manifold too, at least I know they used a different one on their drag car...Alonso asked my shop about doing the heads, he said he would but car would be down for a while he told me he would send them to MMR for their stage 3 port and polish for $1250

My power goal is pretty high up there. Going to shoot for 650 to the wheels NA but the planned build list is......very extensive, to say the least. I'm still 8-10 months out from starting, hell I don't even have the car yet! lmao.

But anything is possible, it just depends on how much you have to spend.

NA power costs money, and sure isn't easy, but it's got a unique wow factor that boost doesn't. Any goofball can slap a blower on a 5.0 and make over 600 haha
