In my mechanic days I had a van come in for an oil change and front end alignment. Once I got under it it needed everything rebuild so I drained the oil and ordered parts and spent hours rebuilding it...Short ending was I forgot to put oil back in the car and when my boss said it sounded funny and I realized what I had done ( this was a good 40 years ago ) I said I will pay to replace the motor out of my pocket..They said " no just change the oil twice to flush it and it's will be good" Hopefully it was but stuff like that is a HUGE reason I still change my own oil!I take it to the dealership. Gives me a chance to look at cars, and talk to folks. They take good care of the car, and scheduled or needed maintenance while I'm there. Of course I watch them like a hawk, and tip my mechanic for a good job.
I might do it myself if I ever get the facilities, but as long as I have a warranty, the dealer is doing the work.
After that I did start putting a quart of oil in the seat to remind me
