As you should be able to see by my invoice number, 169586. On 61/24 I had Valvoline ExpressCare on 524 Railroad St. in Elizabethton Tennessee 37643 change the oil on my 2022 MACH one Mustang with handling package.

The lower was done by PB, upper was done by JB, Cashier was BL.

I was very surprised and disappointed to see that my belly pan for some reason, was hacked up!

They did not ask me or in any way Inform me that they were going to cut my belly pan.

I tried calling the store number a number of times And the person said he would talk to the PB person and find out what happened and then call me back. This never happened.

I’ve tried calling the store at the 423-543-8975 number and not been able to contact anybody. I want to be in reimbursed for the cost of a new belly pan and install.

Holy Crap! I know a lot of the oil change places are staffed by those of questionable automotive knowledge but it hard to believe anyone would mangle the belly cover like that.

And I thought the dealer not draining the oil and just adding five more quarts was bad….Happened last month to my daughter at the Toyota dealer.

WOW yet another reason I do my own oil changes. Lube techs are the worst and are the least experienced. That really sucks.

I still don't get why they did that! The drain plug is easy access from the back and the little door for the filter is common sense. Morons!

Drive over there! I mean if you’re not getting cooperation over the phone (and they won’t since you’re a caller and they can say whatever they want), drive back there and ream them out!

doesn t make sense . Looks like it was struck or someone just pulled the back down and thats where it split? Could you have run something over in the past? Do you ever go under the car yourself?

Edit, check and see if the filter was even replaced. The only thing I could think of is if they looked for the filter, LOL.

I was making an entry and began considering the same: it was beached on something.

See the K-member, right bolt, how the pan is broken around that.

Maybe it was broke while driving up on the lift. Maybe it was already broke, the hole already there. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️

Cut or broke, I'm glad there appears no serious damage, to the underside of the vehicle.

yea, if you pulled down on the cover it probably would not break where it did.

Both left and right bolt, I see what appear to be scapes. Modest, but it seems something rubbed there.

Edit,

Speculating...many of these places, for safety and additional maintenance options, they have drive-on lifts. Often, in-between the paths for the tires, there are air jacks, allowing axles and suspension to be lifted. The jacks are great, but if slide too far back or the arms are up, present a hazard to the one driving on. With only a handful of inches in clearance, it'd be pretty easy to beach on these jacks while driving up.

Edit (Again),

The following could involve both breaking and cutting the pan.

Scenario 1: belly pan was broken before arrival, the tech cutting the loose piece away, then completing oil change. Tech says nothing. Either doesn't care or figures the OP already knows it's broken.

Scenario 2: Tech drives car onto lift, beaches it, breaking the belly pan, some of which is now hanging down. Tech cuts off loose pieces and doesn't say anything.

Oh man……I’d be pissed.
It really isn’t that difficult to access the filter. One simple bolt.

Sad note, this is what we are going to be dealing with from now on. The education system has gone significantly downhill, especially since the pandemic hit.

Yet another reason to do this stuff on your own.

I agree, that makes Zero sense to even be near that, the drain plug is really easy to get to.

I came here to say there's no way a tech would cut that up.

But when I zoom in, it looks like someone used snips to cut that. At least to my eye.

Snips on the right side for sure, then they said fuck it and ripped it off.

I'd go back and do the same to his nutsack.
