There is so much discussion about coolers, track pack vs. tech pack, aftermarket solutions vs. ford performance solutions and who should pay for what that i am really curious about if the 15/16 tech pack owners could go back in time and do it again what would they do?

The diversity of opinion in this poll should be absolutely enlightening, unless you made a typo in the title and you mean to solicit opinion from tech users.

That may actually be worth examining, while soliciting the opinion from track users who have no skin in the game seems, at first glance, useless at best, inflammatory at worst, and a dead horse in either case.

Oh shit! yes this was definitely a typo, was meant to be for tech pack owners... not meant to stir up any shit, in fact only really care about the polls, not looking for new commentary, there are huge threads that already go through that

I selected Would buy the 15/16 track pack", because I "won" an allocation, but ""Would hold out for the 2017's" would have also been acceptable to me.

Don't want a track pack car because it was the wife's daily driver. She loves the seats and options on the tech pack. She was selling her 2015 GT in Competition Orange and HAD to have her GT350 in the same color. So no 2017 because they killed Competition Orange at the end of 2016.

So I would buy the same exact car....

And fix the cooler issue however is best. Probably with the new transmission.

It'll be interesting to see how many Tech owners participate...
I felt pigeon holed into choosing the second option- its not that I want Ford to solely pay for the coolers, I'd like them to offer and warranty them.

I wouldn't change anything. Bought mine for spirited street driving and it serves it's purpose perfectly! Me, my wife and son take it for a spin at least twice a week and all love it. On a side note, there are no tracks remotely close to where I live so I couldn't test my skills or lack thereof even if I wanted to lol.

I would have had a '17 with electronics. That is really what I wanted since day 1 and was disappointed it wasn't an option. If I knew that '17's with that option would be delievered just 6 months after my '16, I would have waited.

That being said, I love working in my car too, so figuring out a solution is fine for me.

I voted that I would of held out for a 17. I foolishly (all my fault) believed some info that this wouldn't be that big of a deal and FP was going to release the coolers soon. Also, that it would be backed by Ford with a warranty. A mistake I won't make again in the future.

I don't know what I'll do next year. I love the car and hope there will be coolers at a reasonable price that work well both on the track and reliably. I may look for a 17, but I hate to reward Ford and another dealer with yet another purchase. I may take a serious look at the new ZL1. I can't stand GM, but that car is going to be a monster and it isn't like my time with Ford has been great. Regardless of the cooler issue there are a few other things I'm not happy about and I have some odd quality issues with my 15 F150. So, why not take a look elsewhere?

Ford wasn't ready to step up and build / support a car of this type. I love the car in most ways but the rattles, and warranty issues reported so far scare me. The dealer network seems flawed at best. My experiences with Ford dealerships so far is that the system is broken for customers. I have lost confidence in Ford. So where I would have previously preferred waiting for a 2017 I shifted to just buying a different car.

Its interesting that folks responded to:

Would buy the tech pack and push for ford to cover the coolers

Its obvious at this point nothing is going to happen. Ford has moved on to Raptor and other launches. We have allowed them to get off with minimal bad press and the ROI for them in their opinion is to do nothing more. Half baked kits and transmissions with no warranty are all they will do. I dont blame them in some respects as their dealer network almost certainly cannot handle retrofitting the parts. They cant even install splitters, remove spring blocks, or torque oil filters properly. When they do fuck up they make excuses and try to resolve themselves of any responsibility.

They have factored in the future loss of sales via brand damage versus the costs of fixing the cars or providing a more complete solution process and decided not to do much of anything. Its over.

We have to accept we bought a car that excels at nothing but sound, braking, and 5 minute bouts of excitement. We suffer from the track gearing and power band on the street, with no track capabilities. It is a peculiar situation. A true track car that cant track. Its funny not to laugh a bit when taken in context.

these models really do not deserve to have the gt350 nameplate on them. A truly misguided build configuration.

If I had to do it over I would wait for 2017 more for the choice of lightning blue or ruby red, and the option of having the 8" screen with the Recaro seats.

Having the coolers would be nice for peace of mind if I were to ever run it on a track. I don't think I would be too comfortable trying to track the tech pack car.

However, it's still a blast to drive when I get some open road, and being able to cool my ass if a plus. Also, I'm not sure my wife would be too comfortable in the Recaros.

I'd be more impressed though if Ford had better quality control when it came to the paint and aligning the body panels.

We're in the minority here, but i feel the thread title should also include base car owners as well since i'm sure some would've decided on a different package.

So that being said, knowing what i know now, i definately woul've bought a track pack car.
