Something I figured out... If you want to see where the rubber on your CAI is sealing on your hood liner get some modeling clay, put strips of it on top of the rubber and close the hood. You have to get it tall enough to squash when the hood is closed, but it will give you a good idea where the most hot air is leaking.

Tried using heat tape as a half-assed experiment. It's ugly but it works. I'm going to re-do it and be more thorough next time. Idling the car (after full warm up) and letting it heatsoak for 3 mins only brought IATs to 20* over ambient and it drops off quickly when I start moving. They are now 10-12* above ambient around town instead of 20+. I think I will be close to stock intake temps when I finish the product.

Yes it is ugly but if anyone is interested in doing this, it works lol.

You can also try taking off the hood liner. Might work out better for driving around town
