Yeah mine is instantly 5-6* higher than ambient the second it reads. Even my HP Tuners scanner reads 5-6* higher.
Maybe UK cars something was changed, though doubtful but if the car has not being ran for a day or two, so no chance of underhood heat, the ambient and IAT are both the same. :)

I started it stone cold after sittting overnight. Clicked over to the gage as soon as the engine started, and it read 6 above. Of course I had the garage door open, so maybe the flood of slightly cooler air from opening the door made a difference? Either way I'm not worried at this point, but it IS interesting.

Do any of you use the filter socks for these or just leave the filter as is?

Quality Control

PMAS may be a good intake in regards to overall performance however they need help in the QA department for sure.
1. Let me start with the intake box itself, burrs, burrs and a few more burrs on the cut out and holes. This should all be taken care of at the point of manufacturing.
2. The clear coating of the aluminum portion on the intake is flaking off inside the tube with possible ingestion
3. Manufacturer neglects to send proper fender washers to secure intake box to inner fender, this has been a topic for some time.
4. The plastic adapter that that holds the filter and is glued into the aluminum portion of the intake tube popped loose during installation. I had to clean old glue off and apply epoxy to properly hold in place.

While these are all easy issues for the average backyard mechanic to take care of they shouldn't have to, particularly for the price point of the unit.

I'm not to confident of recommending this product based on my experience
