Oil “life” % doesn’t matter, it’s a dummy status and that “counter” even counts down when the car is not in use. It’s only a gauge to let people know about when they should change their oil - even if the oil really doesn’t need to be changed in a vehicle that may have been sitting months due to COVID. It doesn’t measure oil type, oil psi or even how dirty the oil really is - it’s just a timer to next oil change. If the car is being used, the timer is based on last oil change reset, how the car is being used and miles since last oil change.
If someone did an oil change 5,000 miles ago, and the car has sat for 6 months with only 100 miles accrued since last oil change, the dumb counter would still count down the % and most likely say “hey oil needs to be changed” - when it doesn’t.
Don’t use that as any form of measurement.
