Seems like it would be an issue for a GT350 car. Someone with GT350 and LTs should datalog and post their findings. Though I trust Lund.
GSLSE20B did on E-85 and he was out of fuel and leaning out by around 7000 RPMs or so I believe.

Shit! I just started running E85 with my revised flex fuel tune. The first version on E85 showed the car leaning at upper rpms and the tune was adjusted for more fuel. Same tune didn't have any problem on 93 octane. Might as well stick with pump gas till the injector upgrade :doh:

Interesting. Thanks for sharing the info on the IDCs.

I know Lund says no injector upgrades even including the GT350 IM which is really shocking based on what you are sharing here.

I know Shaun @AED recommends injectors for any E85 tune.


I am going to reach out to my tuner now and see if they can tell me what my IDC is on my FlexFuel tune. I am only E85 and CAI.

When I spoke with Lund earlier today, they told me stock injectors are fine on pump gas upto Octane 93 but they do check the duty cycle and fuel ratio up top to be on the safe side.

They told me on E85 an injector upgrade is a must with GT 350 IM, but as we cannot get E85 in the UK :( then to me it is no worry.

Yes 93 or any E10 gas is 25% less fuel mass required so IDCs will be around 70-72% on 93 which is fine.

Who at Lund didos u speak with... So much contradicting information.

I have the gt350 manifold running on e85, still stock intake, exhaust manifolds with cats. DA has been bad here in AZ so I haven't seen any lean fuel trims, I did see .86 lamba when I Datalogged the other morning when the D/A wasn't complete crap. Might be tossing a couple gallons of race fuel this Friday at the track just to be safe. LU47s here I come.

You said no even on stock manifold right?

I always wondered one thing, the energy density of E85 is lower compared to pump gas with the same amount of volume, so you need to burn more fuel to get even the same amount of energy. Now if you are getting even more energy than pump gas that means you are putting even more fuel, however an injector must have a limit from the factory. Spraying more also requires more time right. What if the piston reaches the peak angle and combustion occurs but you are still spraying fuel? Or you start spraying fuel way before the piston starts its new cycle to accommodate the more fuel. If timing of the fuel injection is not changing then you do need bigger injectors right?

I'll state this. Someone or others on this forum have post emails from the Lund tuners that stated it was fine to run E85 and GT350IM on the stock injectors.

I am not tune by Lund, just sharing what has been posted, over and over.

I'm gonna have to disagree with ya OP. Just because you don't know how to tune it safely and reliably doesn't mean it can't be done. Sure not so much with a GT350 im turning 7,500 plus, but since your post title paints such a broad stroke.

Plenty of cars running E85 on stock injectors on 15-16's.

I'm one of them. That's what I was told by them. I ended up not going with E85 anyway, so for me it didn't matter.
