Hey y’all! I should be going in to my local dealer this Saturday to place my factory order, and as much as i would love to go with Granger, they’re asking for a non-refundable deposit twice the price of my local dealer that has refundable deposits. I was already told to get the price written down as an agreement, and my dealer told me they’d take X-Plan but I believe the Mach 1 is exempt. Anything else i need to know?
You realize that if you don't want it, you can probably flip a Granger car for more than you pay for it, or find someone else who would take it over for you???

That's a good point, but is that a risk i should be taking? Maybe. If my dealer says they cant price match, I might go for it. Actually appreciate the advice

I work for a Ford Dealer in MA , Bought a new 2021 California Special with 7 miles on it this past December , put it in my garage and never drove it till February . While sitting in my garage I checked all the fluids and did a few add on's .....

With 1263 miles on it I heard a rattle in the engine and check engine light came on , my Ford app indicated timing sensor failure . Took it to our service dept. and much to my dismay I was down 7 quarts of oil , it set a code because there was no oil getting to the cam phazers . Anyway , I went right to sales and ordered a decked out Mach 1 on March 23rd . My sales manager said I was looking at 6-12 weeks to get it , now I see these posts and realize I'm not going to see the new car for another 6 months if I'm lucky ...

My other new car is still in the shop untouched because Ford only wants to drop a set of heads on it rather then give me a new engine , and the tech says he hears a rattle in the lower end , keep in mind I have been working here for 13 fucking years ....

Just so you guys know , after filling my car with oil they set me up for an oil consumption test and I only made it to 521 miles and down 7 quarts again . My sales team assured me this will not affect my trade in value when I swap to my Mach 1 , if it ever shows up , that is ...

They can’t get blocks atm is my understanding. Major supply issues even on repair side. Sucks to hear.

I'm a Ford parts guy , I could have a motor here Saturday morning if I order it right now .... What also sucks is I got a code for catalytic converter failure , so even after the motor is repaired I'm still going to have more issues and downtime .

I would make sure the dealership has great customer service. They aren’t going to price gouge you if their service is great, and you’ll have less stress. When I ordered my car I shopped for months before I finally picked the sales person. I looked at a ton of reviews online and found a great dealership and a ton of people called out the great service they got from one person in particular. I walked into the truck sales side and said I wanted to speak with her and bought a mustang from a truck salesperson, simply because everyone raved about how great she was to deal with. The very first price she gave me was untouchable by any other dealership.

I get it , But I work for a Ford dealer and don't have to go through a sales process ... My prices are set through Ford and their employee discount process .

My service dept. is ok , I think they could have worded a few things differently when talking with Ford engineers and secured me a new engine ... But I guess we will see how this all turns out in the end .

Wow, what a terrible story, hopefully with a silver lining. I'm very interested to know the root cause here, keep us updated.

That is a whole lot of oil being consumed, wow! That engine is a total lemon.

I'm out of the loop, are we rehashing the fun & excitement of 2021 order times again? I thought stuff had gotten more or less back to normal. Guess I should check the '22 order tracking thread
