I've been trying to forget about it, but i'm always reminded whenever i'm driving the car especially when cold, and i hate it.

Like a light rattle/clatter when light on the throttle. It actually never really goes away on mine until I've REALLY run it through the gears.

Definitely worse in the cold. Today was 50s and it was ugly.

It appears I'm the lone "No" vote so far. Yes, I'm very aware what it is. I've had numerous people who are knowledgeable car guys look at it, mostly drag racers and hipo street car people and none of us have detected any noticeable signs of piston slap ... if it's there we aren't hearing it. Oddly enough, the only strange sound we've noticed is a light "whooshing" sound that appears to be noise from the cam chains. I'm very happy with the car, though I admit I only have about 500 miles on it so far ... everything works as designed and it has yet to use a drop of oil.

I think so. Annoying rattle starting at almost exactly 2,500 RPM and lasting until 3,000?

Yes. My track pack had it (sold) and my R has it.

On my R is it still audible at the right RPM and throttle after coming up to temperature but I have to really try to get it.

I had it on my first engine. No idea when I'll get my car back to find out if my new engine has it.

What does it sound like?

To my ears it sounds like loud valve clatter. It comes and goes at different RPM levels and throttle position. With the exhaust valves open it is still very obvious.

How can 2 people not have it ? :shrug: you gotta be deaf not to hear mine.

Even when warm, i can still hear it and it's been bugging the crap out of me since the day i got the car.

I remenber someone saying that it went away after a few thousand miles of driving. I'm at 1400 miles right now.

Mine slaps, I get around it by not lugging around in the 2-3k rpm range and keeping it in sport mode
