Okay. The Roush kit has a 5.5gpm pump. A bigger H/E will give better cooling over the base Roush H/E. The CWA 100.2 flows 8-10gpm so if you get a bigger H/E and a "bigger" IC pump you will have better cooling without breaking the bank. Correct me if I'm wrong
I'm not bashing Roush I'm using it as a baseline

ā€˜Betterā€ in this case would be measured by how much cooler IAT’s are after upgrading. If you spend $1,000 to get it all set up, and it only makes a few degrees difference, I’m sure you would still be disappointed. Even if you double The Roush to 11 gpm, it is not enough according to DOB to keep the temps in check with heavy throttle for a sustained period.

I’m having the Roush installed as I type this, so I’m no hater. Like you, I’m trying to decide if the money and effort are going to be worth anything in the end.

I’m thinking I might be fine with just letting it cool off in between hammer time sessions instead of throwing more money at it. The BMW and Mercedes groups have the same complaints, high IAT’s, so this isn’t unique to us Stang owners.

I have found that letting it cool really doesn't help much on it's own. Once it's shut down it gets hotter and hotter prior to cooling....

For example, I left to go to the gym this morning and initially temps are 5-10 degrees over ambient. 90 IAT = 100 IAT2. I get to the gym after a 10 minute drive. By then the temps have warmed up to normal operating temps.... IAT2 = 120 to 130.... I work out for an hour, start the car, IAT2 while parked are 130-140. I start driving and they move back to 120-130.

JasinEdward is 100% correct. Keep it running and run the fans between drag sessions. Phase 2 kits do not pull as much timing with heat as the Phase 1, anyway. Heat is always a factor but the latest Roush kit handles it much better than most people think.

My last drag strip outing ended after 5 runs (got heatsoaked). It was cool out, but I drove an hour and a half to get there so I wasn't starting cold by any means. Once I left it took about 10 minutes of driving to get IAT2's back down to normal.

I'm really excited to see what type of cooling mods (if any) get created for this blower. I inherited mine with the car so that's how I wound up with this blower.

If someone made the fead bracket for our 18-20 kit we could run the phenolic spacers, those work

The only other thing I would spend my moola on would be the KC /larger tank and race valve

How did you integrate the CWA pump with the Roush harness? Is there an adapter, or did you make a harness?

@Vegas5OH My CWA 100 did not come with a harness. What pins did you use?

I had a 2000 S/C Jag and it never overheated
