Ive done some full throttle logging.. a couple runs i went a little higher than I was supposed to for the logging but everything looked safe.

The throttle mapping is softer for the first 10-15% or so, makes it easier to drive the car quiet and smooth when you want to... but doesnt feel quite as aggressive until you push down a little further and get past this "smooth" zone, then I am pretty sure it feels like everything is there that it had on the Whipple tune. I might ask if we can liven up the throttle map a little bit here.. but its not really a problem for me.

I am very curious to see what the power is with 93 and the 3.625 pulley. It might be about the same... I was only making 670 on the Whipple tune regardless of some guys making like mid 700s my car didnt fair so well. So if I have the same on 93 thats good, and then if we can make my big numbers on E85 ill be happy with that.

Thanks. Overall the project has gone pretty well... I am just a well known complainer/cry baby when things aren't going my way. I always end up working it out!

My new concerns are with the mt82. I love how inexpensive it is to get a built short block into this car compared to some of my past projects... But I am not used to having to spend 6g on a transmission conversion as a supporting mod!

I have been taking slow steps towards that in the background. I am in the middle of setting up as a dealer so that I can package the Fore modules with the system. When its all said and done I will have to either reach out to vendors on the forum here to carry the package, or I will have to sponsor the forum.

Its also nice to get to test it doing more work now, and its doing very well so far. I might try and get it on the dyno this weekend if we are able to finish my E85 tuning. Started raining just now as I was about to go out and do some logging with the 3.5" pulley.

Glad to see you sticking with the S550 and providing information for us here on the forum.

Time to pull the rear cradle out again. I think I need to replace the Torsen differential.

Nothing new actually, its done this for as long as I can remember. I just cant stand to listen to it anymore. You touch the gas pedal CLUNK, you let off the gas pedal CLUNK.

Now that I have the solid diff and cradle mounts, its become insanely annoying.

Try going with a 3.31 differential. Itll be better for boost anyway. It seems mostly isolated to the 3.73 and the torsen itself. The track loks ive all driven dont seem to do it.

Ive got a video uploading to youtube ill link when its done in like 5 min. When I first pulled the differential out to change the ring and pinion, we found the turning torque so loose it would barely register 2 inch pounds. I was hoping that rebuilding the differential would make it go away... but nope. Must be occurring inside the Torsen.

Looks like insane backlash at first, but I set it to just under 9 thousandths and when I move the camera out you can see the axles are moving with the pinion pretty instantly, theres just this damn CLUNK inside there.

Ive driven 3 autos one with the 3.55, other two 3.15s no clunk. Also 3 mt82s with the 3.31 and one with a 3.55. None have done it. I really believe its the torsen. The people i see complain about it mostly is PP owners. Btw Stange is making an S-trac differential to fit our super 8.8. Its a much better option then the wavetrac.

If other peoples Torsen is doing what mine is doing in the video I just posted... then I might put the exhaust back on and leave it for a while. But without other people telling me theirs is the same way etc, I cant stand to leave it like this

Here what do you think:
:eyebulge: yours has it much worse then other PP ive seen. No wonder youre ready to rip it out. I can only imagine how much louder it is under load.

At first to be honest i thought you were exaggerating and thought it just had the slight clunk most are crying about. But that...thats bad.

I really think its the torsen and the 3.73 ratio coupled together. Go to the dealer tomorrow in your Z and test drive a brand new 3.31 mt82. Bet you wont hear it. Just a suggestion. Switching to a 3.31 will be better i feel. Longer gears are typically better for boost anyway.
