I'm getting worried now, ordered in March '15 and had a revised delivery date of Feb '16.
But the only contact I've had from City Ford in Sydney was to sign the contract, since then I had the email form Ford Aus saying here's your Mustang with the pic and options with a 'promise' to keep me informed every step of the way.

I really wanted it before Christmas, and if its not here in Feb I'm going to be SUPER pissed off.

Edit: just sent off an email to my dealer, I hope I get some good news in the next few days.
Let me know how you go. I'm in the exact situation as you with city ford. Nothing since contract and its yours email in september

Ian not sure that email address seems correct....can you re state please.
It's exactly as Deysha puts it at the bottom of her emails. I just copy and paste it when I send her an email. I know it looks wrong, but it works.
The full information that she puts at the bottom of her emails is as follows:

I just got "the call" from FoA this morning.

Prior to the call I have a VIN number from the dealer, signed my contract on 4-Mar-15 so a first batch customer yet etis reports the holding date 30.11.0002 for build.

Ford call confirmed my vehicle is to be built some time after 14-Dec and that it takes 2 months plus 1 month to arrive in Australia and to the dealer. So, I get delivery in March 2016. I'm so glad I could rely on FoA advice that first batch customers would have a vehicle delivered between November 2015 and February 2016.

Ford caller did advise I will get an e-mail when the vehicle begins production and a second e-mail after Baltimore departure with details of the ship and a link to a ship tracking web site to track the vehicle to Australia.

I'm so over the whole saga, Ford don't seem to be able to organise a piss up in a brewery with the delivery, customer advice and service so far...

I was a first batch contract signed 4-Mar, got the "Welcome" email on 1-Sep for a Convertible GT and today got the call from FoA advising delivery in Mar '16 with a scheduled build date some time after 14-Dec-15. So much for a convertible to use this summer...

Guess you will be getting a phone call today from FoA like the rest of us, up to this point "well informed customers" FoA are so concerned about. NOT!

Got my call from Ford this morning. Got told the build would commence sometime after 30/11, with an expected delivery of mid-late Feb. This goes along with what I had previously been told from my dealer, so I can live with that.

Whatever the case... I need it before my mate arrives from overseas. He has literally bought a ticket JUST to come and see the mustang... (March 18 - March 28). Imagine how pissed he'd be if it's not here...

EXACTLY my point, I ordered on 5th March with an expectation of having a convertible for atleast SOME part of summer or good weather. At this rate I will get it just in time for winter ! If that's the case there will be a Ingot Convertible for sale and off to another brand I go...:frusty:

Just received my call from Ford. Deposit paid 13/02/15. Estimated build date 7/12/15. 90 day delivery estimated. So maybe early march. The dealer estimated February from the start so I consider that quite reasonable. Follow up emails promised from Ford when the build starts, shipping from port and customs clearing. VIN also provided. While I understand many others dismay and frustration, I feel that my information trail has been accurate and deserves recognition.

Why are you all complaining? I placed my order on 1st July 2014 (as some of you know) and I wont get my car (fastback) until mid to late January. Now as I understand things, the convertibles are not being produced until 1-2 months after the fastbacks. I'm the one who should be complaining!!
Ian.

Ian, I agree, it's guys like yourself who deposited so early that have a right to be aggrieved as you are being pushed behind later orders. Myself I ordered March and feel like they are meeting original time frames, I think some dealers may have given unrealistic time frames perhaps to get get orders???

AS far as I am aware when the Mustang was first announced by Ford Au there was an expected delivery of November/December 2015. This would obviously apply to the very first people that placed their deposit. As we have seen the Parsifel is carrying 173 vehicles and the in next 2 ships to sail this year, approximately the same amount in each. This means that there are approximately 500 vehicle coming to Australia/NZ with the majority to Australia. Therefore if you ordered your vehicle after order number 450 or so your vehicle would not be delivered until January or later. I know it is impossible to know where each person's order was in the grand scheme of things but there will be people who ordered in 2014 that will not get their vehicle until 2016. The other issue is also that different dealers appear to have priority on their orders (probably based on their number of orders) and because this process is not transparent it is also cause of frustration and angst. Overall Ford Aus' estimates for delivery times were made some time ago and because they are not the manufacturer of the vehicle they have no control over unforeseen production delays or transport delays so even 1 or 2 months later than what was estimated is not too bad I think for what has been an extremely popular car worldwide and with demand exceeding supply there are bound to be delays.

All things considered, I think that Ford are doing pretty well.

I've been waiting for the chance to own a RHD Mustang for twenty years - a few more weeks/months isn't going to kill me.

Fords biggest mistake, I believe, was doing the local launch far too early. Perhaps, instead of a global launch, they should have had separate launches in each country much closer to the time that the vehicle would actually be available to buy.

I think what they needed to do was to give people a more accurate timeframe earlier on in the piece - that way people would have had a more realistic and accurate expectation of how long they would be waiting.

It's all well and good hiding behind the high demand, but if they had been proactively monitoring the numbers of the pre orders being entered into their system they would have known what was happening, rather than the shit hitting the fan like has happened with some people's orders.

Exactly. I agree...

If they told me it was gonna be that long, first of all I wouldn't even have placed an order at this dealer (and paid $2000 for a 'guaranteed' Nov-Dec delivery).

Secondly, would have just bought something else in January to begin with instead of this mess...
