I think the dealers bear a lot of the responsibility for the current frustration among some of us here in that they promised what they knew they couldn't deliver in order to get deposits. Guaranteeing a delivery date 12 months out is is completely irresponsible but also still wanting to believe in that guarantee is also unrealistic. I still maintain that Ford Au have not been specific in the information they have provided because they don't know much more than we do and don't want to be seen as being passengers in this scenario.

A few extra months, who cares......we are getting RHD mustangs at a damn good price! Ford could have shafted us on price, they didn't. My dealer told me about 12 months but made it clear he had no way of knowing for sure and it could be longer. Sure, Ford could have done it better but hey, they could have done it worse too....like charging $90k.

Some dealers - mine went out of his way to explain that it would be (probably more than) 12 months.

He indicated, without directly saying it, that other dealers were guaranteeing earlier dates just to get orders, but it was all BS and anyone saying an earlier date was a liar.

If pricing was $90k then sales volumes would be lower, I certainly would not have signed up for that sort of pricing.

I disagree with this (in a polite way)

Ford are a company selling a product. We as consumers are not obliged to be thankful and take terrible communications and delays without clarification. Yes I can answer with my feet and walk away but the company needs to realize the failure to execute, identify the point of failure and fix it for future releases. If they choose to ignore it and their customers you soon have a business that loses sales and eventually dies a horrible death

This is exactly right, not only did they hit us with delays, they also changed the product.

Look if you were buying a house and you thought you were going to get a kitchen with marble surfaces and you saw it for the first time and it had chip board you would be pretty annoyed and would take action.

I sold my car in late May because at that point I had an estimated delivery of October, that has since blown out and is a massive inconvenience. Yes I know blah blah car sales people aren't honest, but they also aren't above the law.

I ordered and placed my deposit in June 2015.
At that time, the Dealer indicated there would be approximately a 12 month delivery period.
Approximately 5 weeks ago my Dealer advised that my car will "probably" be built in May 2016 with a July 2016 delivery.
In the meantime I have purchased a 1/18 th scale 2015 Mustang Fastback in Race Red, (same colour that I have ordered). The model is a 'Maisto' Special Edition. At least I have a Mustang at this time to look at.
Whilst waiting for my car I have bought a genuine Ford Mustang GT Strut Tower Brace, a Roush Gear Knob, a pair of MGP rear Break Caliper Covers in red with GT engraved in white on them, a couple of Mustang T-Shirts and Baseball style Caps.
I'm about to buy UPR Oil Catch Can and probably a Roush axle back Exhaust.

Have decided to keep my first batch car, instead of selling it off.

Giving my June one to a friend :D

He's over the moon about not having to wait extra long.

Is he going to be pissed off when he realises he has to wait 10 years for delivery?
Ian.

What do you mean? That's a pretty good estimate. Initial estimate was 2032.

Just wondering, does ETIS show up with that build date?

Not mine, has placeholder of 30.11.0002. Etis is supposed to update with real info after production scheduling (Friday I think from other posts) a week or so out from your production week.

What do you have to do to check etis?

R5LH*O 129089 is the only info that looks anything like a tracking number that I've got from my dealer.
