well as of about 5 mins ago i think my mustang journey is finished. I had ford call me and tell me that my feb order is now a Jan build which effectively puts me at may delivery. So basically i ordered well and truely before the cutoff yet for some reason i have managed to end up in the second batch.

I am going car shopping tomorrow and pulling the pin on this rubbish. The car is going to be sold before i take possession and ill go with the new owner to pick it up.

I am also preparing a letter with timing and dates thats going to ford which i am sure will be ignored. But my god.. i cannot even put into words how angry i am with Ford AU at the moment.

If anyone from Ford monitors these posts (which some are suggesting they are). how about you actually do something and legitimately look at my order and explain what has happened. THERE IS NO EXPLANATION. The only thing said was "im sorry i dont have any information all i have is a build date of some time in january"

I guess i should have known this would happen...
Mate I am at a loss for words and if I'd had this happen to me all hell would break loose and I'd be knocking on some doors demanding answers. You have the advantage of being in Melbourne so could front at Ford's office.

Don't pull the pin on the Mustang .. you've waited this long, shirt front Ford and get it sorted. :paddle:

thanks :) i feel like ford au have just shut the doors and put up a sign "back in we don't give a damn" out front.

Basically they have lines of people for the car and don't really care about individual customers. Which is fair enough in a numbers game but they are trying to make a jump from builder to importer and need to change the mindset completely to ensure that they actually capitalize on these new cars and their ability to get them onto our shores.

Seems like whoever is that the top of this mustang debacle has seen the sales gotten his/her bonus and not followed through on executing the actual fing steps required to successfully implement a new product past the presell phase....As i said earlier they may have sold me a mustang but they lost a locked in sale on an Everest and i sure as hell will tell anyone that asks me about my mustang exactly what happened..

i'm the same way mate, i was looking at getting a ranger wildtrack the same time as i got the mustang, but going by the hold up on the mustang and the lack of support from ford au, i'm thinking of just upgrading the amarok to a 2016 instead, sure the mustang is a pretty damn cool car, but its not the only car on the line that they need to sell. i wonder if the delays from ford au were that they were trying to push the falcon out the door so held off on getting the stock from the states so the falcon death and arrival of the mustang coincide with each other pretty close.

Well I just posted a polite please explain on the visitor page at ford au Facebook page... I expect it will either be removed ASAP or some rubbish about we can't do anything or explain anything.

The rage is now a dull ache :) my wife is even annoyed. Her reason is different in that she has to listen to me talk about the mustang and associated parts for even longer or start the search all over again

When I received the phone call from Ford I was also told that my vehicle would be built 30 November however that is most likely Ford Au just reading and interpreting the build date on ETIS wrongly. What is to say that the build date given to Melbnut is not correct either. I doubt the person who called you is any more knowledgeable then any of the others and is is clear that no one really knows for sure what is going on (except that 173 cars did ship out on the Parsifel).

Sorry to hear about your problems Melbnut. The week has finished and I never received a phone call from Ford Au. Why am I not remotely surprised?
Ian.

ordered feb 2015 as well and this is ford au sent me

Hi Korli, your Mustang hasn't entered production yet so we don't have a VIN. Your VIN will be generated once your Mustang starts on the assembly line. Your NSC means your order has been allocated for somewhere on the production line, which is good news. smile emoticon
I have been told you will receive a phone call next week which will provide you with details and a chance for you to ask questions. Have a good weekend, ^JS

When contacted by Ford via telephone I too was told that my vehicle had not entered production yet (was given that 30th November spin) however a VIN did exist for my car which I received from my dealer and when I entered it into ETIS it showed a vehicle summary with the 30.1.0002 build date.
I think it may be worthwhile for anyone without a VIN yet to hassle their dealer or Ford Au for the VIN as it may exist and if so would hopefully indicate a build occurring sometime this year.

I had a call from a gentleman who sounded as if he was from the sub continent claiming to be from the tax department. Apparently he has a warrant for my arrest from the "sheriff of the tax department" for tax fraud. I was to give him my bank details to avoid the warrant being sent to local police.

I suggested he should contact FoA and offer his services. He clearly has no problem making lots of phone calls and the truth is not overly important in his world.

Best of luck to those who are close to getting their Mustang. I have not even started to get annoyed yet as I didn't order until Sept 15 so no need to get worried until around mid next year I think.

I ordered one of the first new Rangers when they came out a few years back. Two month wait turned into 7 and communications was pretty similar then.

I'm getting worried now, ordered in March '15 and had a revised delivery date of Feb '16.
But the only contact I've had from City Ford in Sydney was to sign the contract, since then I had the email form Ford Aus saying here's your Mustang with the pic and options with a 'promise' to keep me informed every step of the way.

I really wanted it before Christmas, and if its not here in Feb I'm going to be SUPER pissed off.

Edit: just sent off an email to my dealer, I hope I get some good news in the next few days.

BroncosXR8 you and I share the same dealer and other dates. I shared the shipping and other blog details to let them know we knew more than they did and Sales Rep was grateful and seemingly out of the communications loop.

Hey BroncosXR8,
Just to fill you in on reality, I ordered my Mustang GT on the 1st July 2014 and it has only just been built. I am not expecting it to be delivered before the end of January at the earliest so all I can say is remain patient. Keep in contact with your dealer for your production number (3 letters & 1 digit) and your VIN number (17 letters and digits). The VIN is the most important thing to have which will allow you to search FordEtis for info on your car's production and will allow you to obtain your Ford window sticker. I gather from your post that you have none of these things. It's frustrating but also a bit of fun. The other thing is to regularly PM Deysha at:

Thanks guys, surprisingly I got a response from my dealer today and wasn't expecting one till the weekend was over, so thumbs up to Craig there.

He sent me this:

13/02/16 R5LH*O 129089 MUSTANG 2016.00 2DR FASTB GT 5.0L 4V 6SPD MAN MAGNETIC Morgan B*****

The 13/2 is an estimated date, so not rock solid but it’s something.

Hang in there, current order bank is 14 months and growing.

Does anyone know what that R5LH*O 129089 means?
