Personally, I went with a Stang related plate for the Stang, & I've kept my nickname related plate on retention. The Stang plate will always stay with the car, I think it enhances the look of it now, & if I ever sell it on (very unlikely) then it will enhance it's resale value. It's a win / win in my book, but each to his own.
Stang related plate it is, I went for one today and a cheap one it was :)

I use to have "WKR 36" sold it with the car .. Probably worth a small fortune now!

Nice and simple mine, MY16 SSC. Cheap as chips but the extra VAT, transfer costs, delivery etc do add a bit on. Be careful buying around ÂŁ500 ish, can jump to ÂŁ800 plus costs easily, take it into consideration when budgeting. As the plate price increases expect more costs at the end.
Sorry, I think I misread something here:eyebulge: You are paying HOW MUCH for a personalized plate????????????????? I am not familiar with these things in Europe, but is that what you pay in the UK? but that's a one time thing, right?

It varies by state in the US, but here in New Mexico we pay $35 a year:D

(now, I have to read these posts again, I am sure I got it wrong...)

You read correct, and wow, $500 for a plate is cheap!

there are plates being bought/ sold for $300K+ (1D being one of the most expensive i believe!).
Thats a one time purchase price, we now retain that rego for 10 years whereby you will need to pay $120 for further retention.

Here's a link you can have a play! http://dvlaregistrations.direct.gov.uk
