That ones not bad, still prefer SM 57ANG over it though...

Fortunately 2016 was ideal for me to get my nickname on the plate. I have several others too. Some people detest them, but each to their own. I've had far more positive responses than negatives over the years.

If I can get away with the respacing (SM 57ANG) then i'm buying it, I just don't want the police all up in my sh1t about it, I know I'll need to buy SM 57ANG and SM57 ANG plates for the MOT as it can fail with respaced plates, i'll just have to interchange them.

Think now i'm not wrapping I wont get pulled for the respaced plates?
It IS possible you will get pulled for that illegally spaced plate and once you've been warned about it, they can take it off you if you don't get it rectified. Something to bear in mind, however unlikely.

On a personal note, I think if you have to mess about with plate, either through adding or relocating fixing hardware, or messing about with the spacing, it looks a bit gash. IMO.

I would've loved a V8 plate, specifically V8 FTW, or maybe V8 LOL. V8 WOO would've worked too! :D

Re spacing & people thinking it's a 57 plate? Buy it you banana! That is a perfect plate for you. Who gives a fuck if the spacing is off...if you care about people thinking you have a 57 plate then maybe the stang isn't for you ;) As Lone Survivor detailed so well the other day, when you own a Mustang you just don't give a shit about what anyone else thinks - that is the law :ford:
Number plates a subjective issue but I'd second this. I've got a 'S7 ANG' plate as well to be honest, if people think it's a 57 plate then so much the better - they'll be less envious.

I have never been a huge fan of personalised plates, but when you have a lot of time to wait, there's plenty of time to spend out on all sorts of random stuff you don't need.

For what its worth, as a general rule, I'd say maybe do a cheeky reduction of the gap, but don't re-space. You kind of want a big white slab of acrylic to be as unobtrusive as possible. We are used to seeing plates all the time so don't really notice them, but wrongly-spaced plates can tend to draw the eye.

If you have a 6 digit plate old style reg, can you space it so there is 2 digits on top line 4 on bottom? On a square plate?
Bit of a grey area this. It would be fine on a bona-fide 'import' as you can use import size plates, but as it's Euro type-approved in 'theory' you should use UK plates.

Given it's a Mustang, I doubt if you'd get much bother as long as you don't mess with the spacing.

My front Sto-n-sho (powered) has a US sized plate as that matches the carrier.

Police won't physically take it off you, however if you have been stopped too many times and the stop history is looked at (rare occasions), they can inform DVLA who may withdraw your plate.....

I think you would get away with it.....but is it worth the risk? (I just wouldn't get away with it, would also be difficult for me to get away with an after factory exhaust)

For the amount I will be using my car I will risk it. I'm one of those people that will have to space mine to make it look better lol

Rear plate will be spaced properly.

Pardon the question but do owners make (or have made) their plates using characters assigned to the car? I'm only familiar with the govt issuing the plates and where spacing is out of the owners control.

Find something that will get you a turn of money to

'PI17 LOK' (Pillock)

'PH17 XX' (Phil)

etc.
