I am going to knock it. A vacuum gauge is nigh on useless in my opinion. Hopefully by the time this comes out they find another gauge with something more useful, voltage, oil temp, water temp, trans temp, anything but vacuum.

And yes the number pad on the base radio is for what??? (edit: okay the phone) But the flatness and squareness of those buttons does scream cheap!!!

Two small gripes and it doesn't spoil it for me, but they could be fixed between now and next Fall when this comes out. Hope they will.
Having had vacuum leaks in my '06, I would find the gauge useful. :)

But it would be cool if you got to choose from the factory which ones you wanted in there.

I think we should be careful about drawing too many conclusions from this LA car. It's clearly pretty early/experimental stuff. If you look close, the screen on the radio isn't even aligned straight. Some of this stuff may never see production.

Also, I could be wrong, but I don't believe that the toggle switches will be part of a particular package with as much of a fuss the Ford people made about them in the promo videos. They all talked as if they were part of the whole "aircraft" inspired theme. My guess is that the switches just weren't ready at the time this car was assembled or those buttons were an early experiment.

But knowing how much microscopic scrutiny the car would receive, do you think Ford would put out an inferior design just to get it show ready? It was obviously ready in time for the HD promo shoots, which were done well in advance of Dec. 5th.

I'm saying this particular car has probably been around for some time (being used for testing). Others have pointed out how scratched up and worn it appears on close inspection. They likely had to use most if not all the existing cars for these reveal events. In fact, the one used for the event in Dearborn wasn't even a functional car. It was just a rolling buck.

Admin team. Thanks for merging all the PP posts!

Anyone have a clue how us Base GT + PP folks can get the drive mode switch?

I am lost figuring out Base performance versus having that drive mode toggle?

Looks like there is a button in the lower right that has a steering wheel graphic on it. I would assume you push it and it scrolls through the 4 modes displaying them on the screen.

PP Splitter

People are noticing in the headlight thread a different front splitter on the LA reveal Base GT PP car.

Is that a performance package splitter?
Where is the PP additional brake cooling?

Nope, The 4th "MODE" toggle/button doesn't exist in the LA base GT PP non-tech package car. I'm at a loss how to regain that computer programming without taking the tech package plunge.

Does anyone know if those black 20-spoke wheels are the only ones available with the GT PP? In my opinion, those are the worst looking of all the wheel styles I've seen so far.

The mesh wheels are the ones that come with the PP. It looks like they come in gunmetal or black. 19x9 and 19x9.5 with 255/275.

They are alright to me, but I'll be putting new wheels on the car ASAP. Hopefully they are desirable for a quick sell. :p

I'm afraid you're probably right. Hopefully the offsets are such that there's a better wheel choice in the aftermarket than for the S197.

Yes something isn't correct, as another post showed, if look close enough the headlights are actually different.. must be the utmost basic gt with a slapped on PP... probably the way I would go barring you can get the mode selection some how... no track/performance mode with a PP seems..pointless?

Agreed. Would love to be able to put some nice Volks on a Mustang, finally. Hopefully we can fit some wide wheels on the car.
