Now call a couple of tire places and ask them if they have them in stock; I'm betting no.

If it doesn't fit on a basic sedan or CUV/SUV it will be a day at least until they can get one.

Why not just buy the pump/sealant kit that comes std. with the current GT500? It's small, lightweight, and it comes in handy even if all you use it for is to keep the tires inflated properly.

That's fine for something simple like a puncture. But not very useful in a sidewall blowout. IIRC, it comes with the pump/sealant kit.

Having run a firestone for a number of years i can tell you that it would not take more than a couple of hours to find a tire in that size in any metropolitan area. Now if you live in nowehere Texas or east bumfuck Nebraska sure it may take some time. And if you do then plan ahead and order a tire well in advance and keep it in your garage or go to your local tire shop and ask them to order one or two to keep in stock for you.

Doesn't really help when you have a sidewall blowout, though (all of my tire issues are sidewall issues, largely from potholes).

Eh, you'd be surprised. My uncle had a blowout in his 2013 BMW 335xi in Brooklyn and it took three days to get a new 225/35R19 runflat replacement.

The sealant will, but TPMS sensors are cheap. Unless you've had a huge blowout though, the air compressor alone should be enough to get you home or to a tire shop for a repair.

$39.99 at AM. Cheaper than a spare tire, and certainly cheaper than a tow truck.

Well, $39.99 for the parts, but it's always the labor that gets you. Two hours of labor at $75 / hour and it's less cheap to break things...

I seriously hope that it doesnt take 2 hours to change a tpms sensor. If its more than 20 minutes i would run like hell from that shop

Most shops in my area have a two hour minimum labor charge for doing anything at all other than oil changes.
