I don't know if "compromise" is the right word. You might be compromising by not getting the manual as a result of fear that you won't enjoy it. In actuality, it's entirely possible (maybe even probable, depending on how much you like driving) that you would enjoy the manual more.Sometimes I wonder if owning a manual car would ever be annoying. Like I feel like sometimes I would just want to get in and go and not have to deal with rowing gears. But like I said, I've never owned one so I woukdnt really know.
I just don't want to compromise and regret it. Say getting an auto without the PP. Or just go for the manual and find out I don't like it.
Like you guys said, hopefully Ford works their magic and this changes for 2016.

That's it. When we see the PP wheels, we know it's someone who actually cares more about driving than texting. My suspicion on why they don't bother offering it on the auto is that almost all the parts on the PP are meant to improve the car's robustness for track use. Bigger brakes, some ventilation (IIRC), etc. My guess is that an automatic transmission might be the weak link on the track. Not because it's slower, but it might overheat before the brakes became a problem, for example. So maybe they didn't think it made sense, practically speaking, to offer it on the auto, and they thought that it might take away some of the credibility of the package if it was offered on a car that couldn't even take full advantage of it. I'd think they'd at least offer the PP wheels and 3.73 gears, though.
Maybe the other thing is that they wanted manual elitist PP drivers to have an "in" with each other, haha. *Sees black PP wheels* "Heeey, I see you're driving a car with a REAL transmission. HIGH FIVE!"
... Just my [slightly] educated guess, though.

Coming from someone who lives in a part of the world where manual gearboxes are the default: If you drive manual all the time it becomes such a second nature you don't really think about it, so there is no notion of 'feeling like it' or not. In fact, I often have to actively supress my urge to reach for the stick when driving my girlfriend's automatic. At least I have learned not to stomp on the non-existing clutch with my left foot and catch the brake pedal by accident instead. That experience is what you can call 'interesting'.Sometimes I wonder if owning a manual car would ever be annoying. I'm 55 years old and never owned an Auto I encouraged my 20 year old son inlaw to get a manual trans '14 Mustang and he now loves it and says never another autoInteresting. It's a must have for me. I need to learn manual. But I don't know anyone with one. And I don't want to buy a brand new car unsure of it all. I am still young after all though
Simple...because only real drivers, drive manuals!Search turned up nothing. I've been reading the forums for days and finally had a question I couldn't find the answer to.
Why is the performance pack only an option on the manual gt? I'm looking at the gt premium in auto. Just curious. The performance pack is something I really want, but didn't really want a manual car. Personal preference, plus the auto has remote start.
Anyway, thanks for any insight.

+1 and the rev hang makes every upshift perfectly smooth. You literally cannot screw up if you let the revs fall then hang for a second before shifting into a higher gear. Idiot proof.manual on this car is really simple. with the creep assist and hill assist it's like manual for dummies.
Yea no kidding, I don't know how many times I've seen the tack dip to about 400 rpms and not bog out. This motor just doesn't want to turn off lol+1 and the rev hang makes every upshift perfectly smooth.
