I think the only scientific reason that has been given by the masses here at Mustang 6g is:

"Manual is more fun to drive so autos cant have it"
Well my 67 mustang only has 4 gears, so I bought one with the automatic just because it is only 4 gears. I can drive clutch but I won't get manual on cars with less than 5 gears. It's just better with more gears. But I agree on the fact of the 2015 mustang having PP only on manuals, you don't feel as much of the car in an automatic. But since they have the paddle shifters too, there kind of is a little bit to argue. I like manual cars more than autos because if you're in the mood for some fun, you can easily shift from 5th to 3rd or even when braking hard you can go from 5th to 2nd and you get much better braking

get the auto, 3.55 add lowering springs and better brake pads. You will be fine(and faster on the street). The benefits of the track pack are things you probably would never even notice.
This is what I am doing. It was either buy the PP and switch tranny or buy the auto w/3.55 and add the other components. Looks like many of the PP folks are changing out suspension anyways.

Read when I say on my 67 Mustang as only having 4 gears!!

Here you are implying the automatic has 4 gears. Even if you were talking about a '67 auto, those only had 3 gears.

Yep, Ford didn't have a 4-speed auto (the AOD) until the very early '80s, IIRC.

It could if someone swapped in an AOD Trans at some point. Very easy swap, bolts right up to the 302 or 351.

Funny thing actually.... I get out every time at the gas station and I'll try pumping my own gad... Until I get yelled at. They're especially mean about it at Costco... Go figure
New Jersey.... I don't understand how in 2015 that Full Service gas is still a thing. Here in Texas, I haven't seen a Full Service gas station in over 20-years.

Hi everybody; I´m new here from Sweden. I just ordered my export version and I am very glad that on the Euro version we get the PP standard even if you order the GT with auto which has the 3:55 rear. We get the same cars that are bound for Germany and all cars sold here get the PP standard to be able to handle the autobahn. My car will be magnetic and I ordered optional aluminum colored rims to avoid the black ones!
I even own a Corvette Z06 with manual and my DD is a Saab 9-5 with manual; so I want the auto in my Stang!
