Search turned up nothing. I've been reading the forums for days and finally had a question I couldn't find the answer to.

Why is the performance pack only an option on the manual gt? I'm looking at the gt premium in auto. Just curious. The performance pack is something I really want, but didn't really want a manual car. Personal preference, plus the auto has remote start.

Anyway, thanks for any insight.

It was reserved for the Limited Edition for this model year. So yeah no GT PP autos. They have all the equipment to make it happen, they swap a 3.55 rear end for the 3.73s the manual PPs get. Maybe next year.

I think the only scientific reason that has been given by the masses here at Mustang 6g is:

"Manual is more fun to drive so autos cant have it"

Interesting. It's a must have for me. I need to learn manual. But I don't know anyone with one. And I don't want to buy a brand new car unsure of it all. I am still young after all though

Well you can either learn when you get the car, or find a manual drivers school. They have one of those out here.

Ignore the "you're not a man if you don't drive stick" comments ;)

PP with auto is EXACTLY how I'd want to order mine. I suspect it'll be an option for the '16MY.......fingers crossed, anyway.

For the record, my S197 is a manual, my daily driver is an auto. Maybe I'm just getting old and lazy, but it'll be autos only for me from now on :)

That is a sore point with some people on here.

The people who actually made that decision scan this forum and perhaps one of them will chime in but at this point it probably not going to smooth out any hurt feelings, mine included.

It was the reason I took so long to get a Mustang on order. My debate was between waiting for the 2016 announcement to see if Ford might see the light on offering automatic and PP,
or
ordering a 2015 in a color (yellow) that will probably not be available in 2016.

My guess is a lot of people called in sick the day they had the brain storming session on how to make the LE exclusive.

Funny thing actually.... I get out every time at the gas station and I'll try pumping my own gad... Until I get yelled at. They're especially mean about it at Costco... Go figure

Sometimes I wonder if owning a manual car would ever be annoying. Like I feel like sometimes I would just want to get in and go and not have to deal with rowing gears. But like I said, I've never owned one so I woukdnt really know.

I just don't want to compromise and regret it. Say getting an auto without the PP. Or just go for the manual and find out I don't like it.

Like you guys said, hopefully Ford works their magic and this changes for 2016.

I think the best you can do is order the auto with 3.55 gears and the 20" wheel option. That will at least get you some of the bracing and summer tires.
