Occasional long start issue after car has sat for a few hours after being driven.

After all boost options out there I've looked at, I decided to go centi as well. For the price of a tt kit or a whipple I could get a boss intake, headers, clutch kit a centri blower and more. No brainier

I do realize a tt kit and/or a whipple will make more power but more $$$ as well

Hello Gents,
With some nice introduction by beefcake, I am into analysis of Procharger (Stage 2) and Paxton. I have been searching through different YouTube videos and focused on two reviews by David P.
Paxton: [ame]
and
Procharger: [ame]

Actually, I focused on the sound now (I understand both systems are relatively easy to install) - I would like the forced induction to be as calm as possible (I sincerely do not like whistle/whining). As there are users of both systems here I would like to ask for your opinion. In the above videos, the Procharger whining is much more distinct than Paxton's. Is that a matter of environment or Procharger is louder indeed?

Naturally, the "late start" problem bothers me a bit too...

The long start is tune or fuel related... Nothing to do with forced induction type.

Yes, I read, but whatever it is, it is Paxton related, right? Anyway, the aim of my comment was to focus on the sound. I know some of the guys love it, for me on the other hand it is the only reason why I am hesitating to use force induction. Would you like to share your experiences?

Negative.... I know of a few that have Procharger, Hellion and Paxton that have the issue. It's not a supercharger related issue. It's with the larger fuel injectors and the tune. I thought it was my JMS fuel max unit causing the issue and when I completely removed it from the car, it still was having the long start issue for a few seconds and then firing right up.

Copy that. Thank you for this explanation.

Coming back to my main concern, so it doesn't sink in "late start" issue:

I can't compare to Paxton, but I had a ProCharger on my 2012 GT. It was definitely loud. I would frequently have people ask me about the noise from it, but that was part of the fun. I messed with a few and told them it was a bad belt.

ProCharger does offer a quieter gear option. I'm still torn between ProCharger, Paxton, Whipple and a custom single turbo. All are on the table right now.

Same here. Just Whipple dropped out from this race for me. I have huge respect for their work but the whining is huge too. I am fighter jets fan and I am telling you this ain't "jet engine" sound as some trying to imply. But naturally I respect they like it.

Now, as this is the right thread, I am trying to gather here all information regarding "stealth" sound options in case of Paxton and Procharger - for future customers and myslef.

The Paxton Novi 2200SL unit is quiet with the slight whistle at idle... And I mean slight. Procharger also makes a helical gear unit that quiets the gear noise down as well. The only noise you will hear is the air rushing out of the bypass valve when not in boost.

Also what beefcake wrote me:
"sound wise the Paxton is inbetween the procharger quiet gears and normal gears. alot of the noise you hear will come from the bov. if you use the stock bov with filter on the paxton, you won't hear it a ton".

On the other hand in one of the threads ProChargerTECH wrote:
"The car I drive is so quite you can't hear the blower.
Can't even hear the bypass valve since the filter is still on the end of it."

For me it was surprising while analyzing above videos, that the whistling was very distinct in Procharger video and I couldn't find it in Paxton one.

Seems like Paxton is the quieter centri unit based on this. I had the HO with the P1 on my 2012 and I could always hear it. I went with the GT500 mufflers for that reason, though. I love the sound of a supercharger.

I love my paxton setup. I'm at 12psi on 91 octane with mine. Installation was involved. The instructions are just good enough but leave out details and the order of operations is also not accurate. The kit is a quality unit and the power is amazing.

The head unit is quite. In fact, with mine, if I'm driving normally the car is loud and makes alot of whooshes and noise. When floored, everything seemingly gets real quite and the car starts pulling SMOOTH.
