one other note

One other thing, make sure that tube B that has the bypass valve attached is not upside down. That would definitely change the position of the upper tube A pushing it up too high. Easy way to tell if it is upside down would be if the bypass valve is facing the fog light instead of out toward the side bumper with the filter facing straight back.

We the motor mounts will work with only lowering it 1/4" but you can try what Terry said first.

Just my 2 cents.

****Side notes **** We should have a catch can for this system here shortly ****

Random side question. What are you doing for CAI? The JLT adapter and filter?
jlt doesn't officially have a kit, they haven't had a car in house yet,

but they are helping me out with our own custom package with a filter and adapter to pick up some extra boost

anyone in the n/c ish area, they would love to get a Paxton or vortech car in house

Ok, after much communication with Beefcake, Paxton, a few ideas from other form members and a few ideas of my own, the clearance issues are resolved. At the instruction of Beefcake and Paxton, I clocked the volute but ended up moving it clockwise instead of counter clockwise about 1/2 inch.

Form member Kiko1 recommended using washers to space down the catch for the hood latch.

The combination of the volute rotation and the washers gave me between 3/16 and 1/4 inch clearance between the hood.

I was also having issues with the plastic air intake tube hitting the hood. Paxton sent me an email with directions on cutting the end where it meets the head unit to create more space. I also went one step further and reshaped areas of the tube. These modifications allowed me to move the tube back 1/2 inch and rotate which gave me about 1/4 inch clearance as well.

By reshaping the underside of the tube, I was able to rotate it downward and back closer to the tubing for the throttle body.

This is what worked for me and my clearance issues, ATTFighter did not have any issues so mine may have been an isolated issue. Thanks to everyone that put their two cents in to help out. Back to the data logging to get the tune finalized so I can play.

So I know it may vary slightly from car to car (as it clearly did here) but is this kit SUPPOSED to require removal of the hood insulation in order to have clearance?

Whoa that looks stuffed in there, but it looks good. Interested to see what the numbers are. Nice build and glad you had ALL of your issues worked out. Car and Personal.

It is tight in there but I love the look. I have not installed the coil or fuel rail covers because I am dressing them up to compliment the blower kit.

Thanks for the congrats on the personal stuff.

I took it for a spin this afternoon to do a little more data logging, I can't wait to open her up!

I have done a couple of tunes with Lund and have been able to drive it around some this weekend. All I can say is, HOLY GUANO BATMAN! This thing is a blast. I have to do one or two more datalog sessions but was told I was good up to 6k rpm. I understand the fun of a manual tranny but have absolutely no regrets with my auto, especially with the shift improvements that came with tuning. Once the final tune is done, I hope to get it on a dyno soon.

We went for a ride over into the mountains also and the car drives great but the thing that impressed me the most is averaging 22 mpg while being in curvy mountainous road. I would think I could still see 24-25 on interstate trips. I will take that all day long considering the power available.

How much hacking of stock parts are there in this kit?

The only thing mechanical that was cut or altered was the PCV hoses. The rest was cosmetic ( fuel rail cover ).

I did get the final tune done today. Jon Lund II did my tuning and he said that he would most likely use my final tune as a base tune for all centri kits on the mustangs since mine was all stock except for the blower.

I have an appointment Tuesday for a dyno run to see where I am at power wise compared to stock. I will post results when I get them. I will say this, dag gum she's quick!

Looks good man. How does this install compare to procharger?

I never installed a procharger but I can tell you this kit is involved. The procharger kit looks to just be an add-on with limited installation modifications. I almost went with a procharger kit in the beginning but wanted a more finished look when the hood was open. After all, you spend that much money, you want to show it off at some point.

The procharger is a good kit and makes great power, it just wasn't the look I was going for in the end.
